My new years resolution was to beat bloodborne and I got to Rom the Vacuous spider who makes me SO mad. So I went a killed blood starved beast (after a month or two) and made my way to the labyrinth hoping I could level up to beat Rom but undead giant is annoying as well

Don't be afraid of Chalice Dungeon Rom. He can't hurt you.

Rom also gave me a lot of trouble. There’s two ways of beating her 1. Bumrush her with beast blood pellets and as +6 tonitrous for bolt damage. Wail on her until you run out of stamina or she teleports. It’s a really risky strat but it’s a lot faster than the other method. 2. Kill all the ads first and don’t be greedy with dealing damage. The baby spiders back are super weak compared to their head. Bolt also works here. This’ll be a slog and can end very quickly if you don’t watch out for the meteors she spawns in. Because of how BS the fight is, you should always be 80% or higher on health. Rom flailing around and her meteors are kind of hard to predict, so not getting stunlocked or taken by suprise is important *especially when going in for damage*. If you have the DLC, try to make some headway there too as you can get I think some weapon upgrade material in the first area. Regardless of strat, boltpaper is going to be your best bet if you don’t have any good gems that give bolt scaling. I think you get it from the sparkhunter badge.

Yeah Rom mostly wears ya down with adds. She won’t spawn more until she teleports so you can take your time with those (hit the body, not the rock head and they go down quicker) (or use blunt weapon) I would suggest wearing Arcane resistant armor, but this is Bloodborne and armor is purely decorative on the body of a skilled Hoonter. Wear whatever you want. Kin (such as Rom) are weakest to Bolt and Thrust dmg so maybe use Tonitrus as Aifos recommended or a poking weapon/moveset. If you don’t want to level another weapon, use bolt paper or whatever it was called. Meteors (her little stand up move) can be dodged by strafing (tight miss if you run diagonally i think. Good as you’re approaching her.) The back roll is the geysers which don’t often hit, probably the weakest move. Main thing to worry about is the close AoE she does. Especially when in the middle of an attack combo, be wary. Other than that, slap the body. She also takes damage during the teleportation so heavy attack when she does that for more dmg. (I think she doesn’t teleport until she’s not being hit.) —- Undead Giant is not so bad when you dodge between the legs. Never really had a problem with him, even in the harder Dungeons. Chalice Dungeons are a nifty source of Blood Gems too, which can help you with Rom if they’re the “ATK vs kin UP” or bolt UP kind. Harder to find though. Actually not sure how common they are… Make sure you got good runes equipped too. Good luck, Hoonter.

I was going to offer some advice, but it's honestly been so wrong since I fought Rom that I actually don't remember whether it was better to take out the ads asap, or just try to ignore them. What I can say however is: A. Keep moving. Don't stand in one place for very long. Don't get greedy. It's better to land one hit and live than to land three and die. B. I remember Tonitrus being very good for that fight if you have the stats/upgrade materials.
