Community Focus – Clintus
Our focus this week is a well-known YouTuber who loved video games so much that he decided to take up streaming. He’s a positive personality who loves playing Destiny 2 and chatting with anyone who stops by his stream.
Please give a warm welcome to Clintus.
So tell us a bit about yourself and your role in the Destiny 2 community.
Clintus: I’m currently a Twitch streamer and YouTuber who focuses on the positive side of the community. I’m a "glass is half full" kind of guy. I've been playing Destiny since day one and loving Destiny 2 thus far.
Where can we find you on the internet?
Let’s find out more about your play style. What is your favorite subclass and weapon?
Clintus: I’m a Warlock main, and to this day Voidwalker still comes in as my favorite subclass. Blink is so good in D2! As for weapons, I love me a good Fusion Rifle, and I’m currently vooping people in the Crucible with my Main Ingredient. It’s still the most satisfying kill in the game, IMO. Big fan of Auto Rifles too.
You started out more as a YouTuber and are somewhat new to Twitch, right? What made you decide to start streaming?
Clintus: Yeah, I’ve been making YouTube videos for over 10 years and vlogging daily for over five. Video games were always a hobby for me, and I started a gaming channel as sort of an excuse to play more. When YouTube Gaming was announced, I decided to stream there, since my channel was already established. I quickly fell in love with live streaming and put in a good 18 months over there until ultimately deciding to move over to Twitch. I felt like it was the right place for my community, but it also felt like it was where the Destiny community was for streamers. It’s been six months, and I can confidently say it’s been the best decision for everyone.
What are your channels like? What can people expect to see when they tune in?
Clintus: I run my channel as if we’re all sitting on the couch, hanging out, playing video games together. I interact with my chat as much as possible and try to maintain positive vibes. I’m a big fan of everyone having their own opinions and love a healthy discussion, just so long as everyone can stay respectful of each other. Because I come from a pretty big kid audience on YouTube, I try to maintain a PG-13 stream. It’s live and I’m playing video games, so every once in a while a few choice words might slip out, but nothing you wouldn’t hear in a PG-13 movie.
What has been your favorite thing about Destiny 2 so far?
Clintus: I love the fresh start. I love that it feels familiar but vastly different at the same time. The sound of the guns and grenades along with the music just pulls me in, and I still get goosebumps in certain missions even though I’ve played them a dozen times now. I’m also a big fan of it being on PC. I used to play PC shooters years ago, so to come back to it now and play Destiny with mouse and keyboard… I’m loving it!
Anything else you want to say before we let you get back to playing?
Clintus: I loved playing Destiny 2 on console, and I’m loving it even more on PC! I’m really looking forward to seeing what the team has in store for us this next year. I think it’s going to be amazing! Also, big shout out to you and DeeJ for having the toughest jobs in the company. We appreciate all that you do for the community.
