Scan and Repair in the Battle.net App
Scan and RepairIn Destiny 2 on PC, players who encounter issues with installed game files should try running the Scan and Repair tool in the Battle.net app. In some cases, players may receive an error in-game which directs them to do so.
To run the scan and repair tool, players must:
- Launch the Battle.net app
- Visit the Destiny 2 pane
- Click Options
- Select Scan and Repair
- Confirm by selecting Begin Scan
If corrupted files are discovered and must be replaced, a download will be initiated to replace them after the scan is complete. Once new files are downloaded and installed, please try relaunching Destiny 2 by clicking Play.
"No Problems Found"In some cases, players may repeatedly receive an error directing them to use the Scan and Repair tool, but the tool reports “no problems found.”
This typically indicates that there is a recurring problem loading data from the disk into memory. This can be due to hardware instability, overheating, or other hardware issues.
To troubleshoot this type of issue, players should:
- Set all BIOS settings to default/standard values; especially:
- Disable CPU overclocks
- Set RAM to "XMP" mode
- Check SMART status for disk
- Run comprehensive RAM integrity tests
