Players may encounter SAXOPHONE errors on PC when Blizzard services are unable to authenticate a player’s purchase or login when they launch Destiny 2.

This can be caused by any of the following:
  • Players do not own Destiny 2, but have it installed from a Free Trial weekend and are attempting to launch outside of a promotional window.
  • Players are attempting to launch the .exe file outside of the launcher. Players should always launch Destiny 2 from within Blizzard’s app.
  • Players are attempting to launch while Destiny 2 is already running on their account on another computer.
  • authentication is under maintenance or is encountering issues. Players who believe this is the case should check Blizzard Support for information.
If players are encountering SAXOPHONE errors and do not believe they fall into one of the above categories, they should report to the #Help forums.
