Destiny Code Redemption FAQ
All Platforms
Some Destiny content, such as emblems, items, Add-ons, or DLCs are accessed by redeeming one of several kinds of codes. Many Destiny codes are redeemed through the Destiny Code Redemption form, but others may need to redeemed in different ways. Please see below for a list of frequently asked questions and answers.

How can players determine which kind of code they have?


Players can easily determine what kind of code they have by comparing the length and format of the code:

Bungie.net Codes

How do players redeem their PlayStation or Xbox codes?


PlayStation and Xbox Codes will need to be redeemed using the correct platform's store via the console or a web browser. Players that encounter issues redeeming a PlayStation or Xbox code should contact their platform's support.

IMPORTANT: When redeeming a PlayStation or Xbox code, players should ensure they are redeeming it on the account they wish to access the Destiny content on. Bungie will not replace codes redeemed on the incorrect account and cannot guarantee support of a console's game sharing features across accounts.

How do players redeem their Bungie.net codes?


Bungie.net codes can be redeemed through the Destiny Code Redemption form. Players will need to be signed into a valid Bungie.net account to finish the code redemption process.

IMPORTANT: When redeeming a Bungie.net code, players should ensure they are redeeming it on the account they wish to access the Destiny content on. Bungie will not replace codes redeemed on the incorrect account and cannot guarantee support of a console's game sharing features across accounts.

Do players need to have a PlayStation or Xbox account to redeem a Bungie.net code?


Yes. Players must have a valid Bungie.net account that is linked to either a PlayStation or Xbox account. For more information on linking a PlayStation or Xbox account to your Bungie.net profile, please see this guide.

Do PC players need to have a PlayStation or Xbox account to redeem a D2 Early Beta Access code?


Yes. PC players must redeem their codes using the Destiny Code Redemption form which requires a Bungie.net profile that is linked to either a PlayStation or Xbox account. Players will choose at a later date which platform they wish to use for the Destiny 2 Beta.

How do players receive their content after redeeming a code?


After successfully entering the code, the rest of the redemption process is automatic. The account that redeemed the code will receive the correct products and content.

Redeemed Add-Ons or DLC may need to be downloaded and installed. In-game items may be delivered to the Postmaster or unlocked in an Item Collection. Note that some items may not be available immediately and may require some game progression in Destiny to unlock.

How can players get help if their redeemed content is not appearing in game?


Players that are encountering issues receiving their redeemed Bungie.net code content may want to try the following troubleshooting steps:
  • Checking the appropriate Item Collection, as well as the Postmaster and Inventory on all of their Characters.
  • Signing into the Bungie.net profile, go to the Profile page, select Codes, then select Use Now next to each item.
  • Restarting Destiny

Players that encounter issues redeeming a PlayStation or Xbox code should contact their platform's support.

How can players get help if their codes are missing, invalid, or have already been used?


If the code was purchased from a retailer, players will need to contact their retailer for assistance with missing, invalid, or already used codes. Bungie will not replace codes that are missing, invalid, or that have already been used.
