3 RepliesJust a thought, incase any dad's on here have an ear at #bungie maybe they could create a new bounty class? For donations of time. I know I for one would always have a such a bounty active. One where I got no benefit, once completed the rewards would go to whomever someone deemed needy. Like this kid, make a wish kids, terminal patients, frankly anyone that could use a bump. Destiny is supposed to be about community after all, just an idea

So sad. Yes, as fathers (and adults, in general), we know that this is not a big deal. It's not a foreclosure on a house, terminal illness, etc. However, for an 11yo, this is quite literally the worst thing that has happened in his life. We can all remember what it felt like to not have a date for Prom, or not be able to go that that Friday night party that "everyone" was going to be at. Those are miniscule things now. But, back then, they were the biggest things in our lives. Again, we know that this is not a big deal. But, it IS a big deal for him. I'd give this kid all of my characters (hahah - a lvl 31 hunter and another lvl 10 - but still!) if I could. I'd rather start over at lvl 1 and work my way up and give him those, too. Poor kid - almost made me cry by the end.

That's really a great idea, Beals83. I mean, REALLY GREAT! A bounty where Bungie could donate money/games/systems/etc. to someone based on how many bounties are completed. Kind of like how people pledge a dollar for every lap that a person completes at a American Cancer Society walk. Bungie could pledge like $5 or something to a charity for every completed bounty. Even have different bounties for different charities. And, not be normal bounties where you kill things and stuff. Make them interesting. Say "Must revive 5 unrelated (non-friend) Guardians in the Patrol in 5 minutes" or "Must kill an enemy that is attacking another Guardian 20 times". Stuff like that.

I did not scan the entire post for all comments did the gamer tag of the culprit ever get mentioned or is it even known?

Wish I had a ps4 this made me real upset for the kid because he just lost his innocence he trusted a stranger who he thought had good intentions he never once passed judgment that this guy might be bad because he's innocence now that's all gone and he learned that the world is not as friendly as he once thought

3 RepliesFunny, was just telling wife about it. We think the same, prob explains marriage n kids. Where r the parents? Parental controls should prevent this kind of thing until they can pay for it themselves. Its a crappy lesson learned, n he n his parents r lucky this a$$hole kirmit only stole his fun n deleted characters.

3 Repliesfirst, it's 6hrs to get back to 20. Not a big deal. Bungie's hands are tied, the kid should not have been playing the game, kid got a valuable life lesson early. As a dad you try to shield your kids from this kind of thing, and should at least "chaperon" their gaming sessions playing non-age appropriate games, keep an ear out. The fact that the dad is "outraged" is the sorriest part of the whole thing. Game is rated T, his parents left him open for something like this to happen. The internet, like the outside world, is a cold hard place full of douche bags.

3 RepliesI put a post about this today but I have a new thought. After more has gone on whit this thing and how it has blow up like it has. This is not to start any arguments or flame war. But i only read about mom and the kid. 5th grade and 11 years old. I would hate to see this be some kind of social studies class project about online behavior. My wife is a teacher also and I don' hear he talk about how many kids that age stream video and have capture cards, and why would mom want to put it on youtube as a place just to hold it for bungie to see. Makes me think a little is all.

This thread could use some of our support. This is the thread that the boy started that sparked this whole thing and how it made it into the Bungie weekly update. Got Trolled by AztecStrikerS13 and KirmitTHEFrog - lost all my characters and exotics

1 ReplyEdited by GreyDire: 2/20/2015 6:21:24 AMThere have been several posts offering help on the main forum. That I'm aware, the kid has not replied except for a post on imgur.com that is remarkably mature. He accepted what happened, knows that he was suffering the consequences of trying to cheat, and did not blast that asshole for what he did. Very mature. Personally, I think that guy should be banned, but from what I understand he didn't do enough to violate the terms and conditions to get banned. We can only hope that karma catches up with him. As for the kid, I wouldn't have a problem with bungie giving him his characters back, but I'm also ok with him just taking it on the chin and moving forward from where he is now. I expect my kids to be accountable for their actions, and I expect them to learn from their mistakes. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the kid deserved what happened, but he'll be back up in no time and will have learned a good lesson on trusting strangers on the internet. Edit: http://m.imgur.com/BivrGGy is the link for that kid's response.

The TritanArmy posted a video on their YouTube channel saying they have already contacted the kid and will hook him up whenever he's available. They'll do everything they can to make sure he gets his gear back and will help him to get his characters leveled up quickly and legitimately. Hopefully the Post Master has something waiting for him one of these days.

That is wrong on so many levels. What kind of human being does that to a kid? I hope PS sees this and bans that Kirmit d-bag

We have blasted out tweets and spammed bungie. They are aware so we shall wait and see. In the meantime several groups have reached out to them including the DoD! Well done!
