Here's one I just saw on the Destiny subreddit. It explains how elemental damage works against enemies. I figured I would post this because I actually had thought this was reversed, that blue shield would adsorb arc damage and that red would absorb solar.

also, spinmetal is easily gained by doing earths explore missions. i personally go from the start to the divide and head over to the refinery and work my way back and fourth from the divide to the refinery, whilst focusing onn a specific method of grimoire kills. some missions give you 10 spin metal, and theres a few spawns on the way to the divide , and a few in the divide along with in the refinery aswell. in the beta i accumulated about 70-75 spin metal over the course of about 30 hours. i obtained 2 vanguard marks the whole time, i believe one was from the spinmetal hand in (along with like 500 glimmer and 25 crucible marks, the other one would have either been from about 40-50 missions being completed, or has to do with getting gold on public events. the only public events i did, were to kill a speicifc "SUPER " vandal, before he runs to a specific spot, i got a silver, and a gold and a DNF on that type. i played another one which ended quick but i know you had to kill the monster before the time ran out, im noit sure if he was running somewhere or what, but i got gold on that aswell. there was a 3rd gold event i did but i cannot rmember, either these golds rewarded me with the mark, or the bounties did, or the missions did

I noticed this too. Cashing in Spin Metal with the Vanguard Quartermaster seemed to be the fastest way to gain Van rep in the Beta. I know the Vanguard section of the map was removed for the Beta (it's normally sitting next to the Crucible). I'm assuming going there will open up missions that allow for the same amount of Vanguard marks to be earned. For Crucible I think it was a 100 per week?

Another tip, when on the moon certain doors can be opened by pulling out your ghosts, and will have chests/dead ghosts inside.

oh nice, I had no idea you could turn spinmetal in for Vanguard Marks
