Vex Weekly Heroic Strike Tips

Hey guys/girls, Just completed the vex weekly heroic strike with one other friend today. Took a few attempts to get it right but we got there in the end. A lot of people I have spoken to have said that they have trouble with the boss on heroic so I thought I would let you all know how me and a team mate did it. First off I would say that you would need to be level 22+ in order to give yourself the best chance of completing it, also have at least one other person accompanying you (this is not to say it isn't solo-able, its just a lot easier I find with another in case a lucky shot hits and kills you). Secondly I find the right choice of guns makes a massive difference. For primary weapons I used an auto-rifle all the way. I feel that at the moment they are the best type of gun in the game just because of their consistency and general feel. I found that snipers far outclassed fusion rifles and shotguns for this strike. Why? Because you are able to snipe enemies from far away without being in the midst of all the chaos that is being unleashed. Also on the final boss the sniper does massive amounts of damage if you hit its yellow eye. I think my sniper was doing about 1.1-1.2K each hit and the magazine had 4 bullets so on average was doing about 4.6K damage per magazine. For heavy weapons I personally prefer a rocket launcher, but machine gun is equally viable. Thirdly if you do take a group with you make sure when facing the boss that you all stand relatively close together. I find going to the left up the stairs up to that raised ground is the best place as there is good cover and vantage points. If you or one of your team members die then the last thing that anybody wants to do is run to the other side of the map being blown to pieces by the boss to try and revive said person. Also when the adds spawn they can overwhelm you at any point so standing together and covering each other's backs helps a lot. Save grenades for when the adds spawn. Hitting the adds with a preemptive grenade helps majorly on heroic. Fourth and final point, if the strike has solar (or any other type of damage) as one of its sub-types in the selection screen and you have a decent solar spec switch to that. It helps A LOT! Solar damage against the enemies in this strike is significantly increased compared to other types of damage. I am a ninja hunter usually but for this I switched to my golden gun spec just because the amount of damage I was doing was incredible. My grenades literally decimated groups of mobs. My golden gun hit the boss for 3.5K damage per shot. That's 10.5K damage overall with your 3 shots on the boss!!! The boss's health bar literally drops in chunks. So that's what I have to offer people. I hope this has helped. If you have also completed this heroic strike and found ways that are good please let everyone know. If this explanation helped let me know :) If you are still having trouble please let me know and I will try and help to see what I can do. Have fun gaming!
