Keyboards

What keyboard are you using? Is it mechanical, or membrane? I've got an Alienware TactX keyboard, from the days when I thought Alienware was the best thing ever. I actually quite like it. It's got plenty of lighting customization, some games utilize this (Witcher 2, BF3...). It has 6 customization buttons, along with 3 profile buttons. It has a nice little media panel. My only complaint, other than it being membrane, is its price, which is way too high. On a side note, one of my mate's is looking for a mechanical keyboard under $100. Any recommendations?

Laptop keyboard. I have a really nice Logitech Mouse with side scroll functionality, and a really comfortable shape.

Best keyboard I've used. I don't see the appeal in spending hundreds for a new keyboard when this is damn-near perfection for me. I spent all that money on a new PC and monitor but the two things I kept the same were the mouse and keyboard. I still kick ass on FPS games, so where's the justification in spending more?

      • I use the Corsair K60. It's been really good to me. Some occasional issues, not too bad. My mouse is part of the pair, it's the M60. That thing is giving me a bit of trouble, with the scroll wheel being a bit loose, going out of control at times.

      • My desktop uses a G510, which is the best keyboard I've used.
On a side note, one of my mate's is looking for a mechanical keyboard under $100.
I'm not screwing with you here, but just go to your school or public library and ask if they have any old keyboards in storage somewhere that you could buy. Those are mechanical keyboards, and are essentially the same as high-end mechanical keyboards. In addition, they have that "mouseclick"-esque feedback that Razer tends to tout for their $100+ keyboards. To use one, you'll need an adapter. I love these keyboards for typing, and if the game isn't too hotkey-demanding (SWTOR, any FPS, etc) it's even a good gaming keyboard. Seriously, those things are hidden treasures.

      • I have a Vengeance® K90 mechanical keyboard. I was using a generic rubber-domed board, but low key rollover whilst playing Quake Live became a real problem.
