Comparing this to Call of Duty, a linear first person shooter is embarrassing. Call of Duty MW is 10 years old, the Remastered version was dead on release because Call of Duty's are always dead on PC. 800,000 players averaged on a BRAND NEW game is embarrassing. Yes, the numbers are likely to increase because of PC, but after a week or 2 they will die down, and the numbers will be even smaller. There's no end game.
There is another games figures in this same thread all say the same story the numbers of destiny are not bad.
And, let's take infinite warfare as reference that is the last installment in the COD series, according to this tracker page they got 1400 players on daily basis, again, the 1.4 millions daily of destiny still looks dam good.

The highest peak on Infinite Warfare was 15,000.
Like I said, all Call of Duty's are dead on PC at launch and after. Also, Call of Duty is a 14 year old franchise. Destiny is 3 years old.
You can't compare Call of Duty to Destiny, TWO completely different games.
They are coperative FPS, how not to compare? But chose the franchise, as we discussed in this same thread a monster like FIFA 18 summons daily 1.6 millions of players, the 1.4 millions of destiny are on the monster league of big games.
Not at all, PUBG it's the most popular game on PC right now and it online estimates 1.3 millions of players daily, that's not even the same people playing pve on destiny.
Your being silly PC, though it may be the best platform for hardcore gamers, has the smallest player base between XB1, PS4, and PC.
Destiny is currently out on all 3 platforms made by a AAA studio published by Activision and averages about 2 mill daily players. While PUBG is a game in early development made by a small studio and is currently out only on PC and still averages over half of what D2 does.
So yeah D2 is doing pretty bad.
Let's talk about a hug game Hit lately then, battlefield 1, battlefield tracker says that 10k play daily on xbone, 18k on PS4 and 7k on PC that like 35k daily on all plataforms, destiny numbers still look dam good.
Overwatch cant be tracked ( the only stats you can watch are leaderboards and if that's the number you are watching they are not very good as they round the 300k) and is not a recent game, blizzard has very strict policies about revealing the active players, as other companies they just released the registered user only, but I have an example FIFA 18 the big monster of EA, daily can push a 1.6 millions of active players trough all his versions, so, again, the 1.4 millions of people playing destiny doesn't look bad at all.
Pubg is an unpolished piece of shit so it's a bad comparison since people here scream and moan for more features and content and this and that and pugb is getting more popular despite looking like Gary's Mod.
Apples and oranges man.
