First light house trip was at 295. The only time I had questionable deaths were at the hands of incendiary grenades. Sometimes getting burnt out on one grenade.
Other than that light isn't as important as you think.
The light level advantage isn't noticeable. You're only at like 3-5 percent disadvantage which isn't changing the outcome of any gun fights. Make sure you run all your nightfalls this week and run the banner for the random drops and start infusing your trials gear up.
