You really need to get your facts right. DoW is not destroyed by the hunter, you are. And in line with the DoW mechanics if the owner dies do dies the bubble.
DoW blocks projectiles (including grenades) , that's it.
Ground waves (bladedancer and titan super secondary effects) are not projectiles. Watch the video again and you'll see you take damage from it before dying and then the DoW disappearing.

Actually you would be surprised. In a game I was my teammate activated WoD and a hunter shot one golden gun shot breaking the sheild. That is not right. It should not break off one shot. Or none. It should only go when it runs out or the owner dies.
-
If that's the case I imagine that the hunter shot counts as energy and killed him not the shield.
-
No. Teammate was in shield. The first hit broke shield and I said wtf and got shot. My friend was screaming as he thought it was impossible to break and then he killed him. My friend was the titan and he died after me but shield died first.
-
Confusing reports now as others saying needs 2 shots. Could argue that has taken 'damage' before hand but who knows real truth as I've not seen any controlled experiments thus far.
-
It was one shot. It was just one shot and then I died then titan died. It needs to be invulnerable.
-
I'm sorry sir but you are incorrect. Sufficient damage can take down WoD. Two golden gun shots or blade dancer waves take it down. If nimble enough I can escape the rest of their super without taking any damage (jump dodging blade dancer or golden gun shots) if anything else it should flat out cost a super to take down the shield. 3 Golden gun shots. Not two.

Edited by Sliq: 2/7/2015 12:32:05 PMIt's really hard to tell in the video, but you may be right. Razors Edge appears to destroy the bubble first, and then me, but that could be to latency. I was pretty sure that both Razors Edge and Showstopper destroyed the bubble, but now I'm curious. If only there were private matches to test this shit in :/ Also, your post came off as a bit aggressive, which may or may not have been intentional.

Sorry, just more annoyed in general as a lot of people - not just in this thread - propagate opinion or thoughts as fact. A general misconception is that WoD has a hidden health bar whereas it turns out that the user dies thus it disappears. In the video, you can see the bladedancer wave takes off the overshield first, then health, then causes death. The fact that it causes damage to the user while the bubble is up is proof that the bubble doesn't stop such damage and that the likely scenario is the user dying. I'm not 100% sure if nova bomb penetrates WoD (energy passes through?) or causes death from the AoE explosive damage/vortex causing user death. I would guess that the nova bomb itself does not destroy the bubble though (I need to test this by bombing an empty bubble). I do know that Ogre eye blast does not cause a bubble to fail though contrary to opinion. Nor any pve ranged attack. As for the general point - WoD isn't meant to be a pvp spec or rather it needs to be used situationally - weapons/blessing of light, Saint 14 - rather than pure turtling, but that's my opinion/experience.
-
Yeah, that's wrong. WoD is destroyable. 2 golden gun shots destroy it, fists of havoc destroys it, 4-5 sun singer grenades destroy it, nova bomb destroys it, and I'm very certain hunter showstopper destroys it. It is destroyable, I'm just uncertain if razors edge does it.
-
I'll believe it when I see it and when the user is still alive.

Edited by Sliq: 2/9/2015 1:17:39 AMWell it's good for you I have plenty of footage of this happening! http://youtu.be/m2UYoxE0vq8 At 2:50, I drop a Ward of Dawn, and the Gunslinger destroys it in 2 shots, me still remaining alive. They same EXACT THING happens in the next clip. At 7:20 a Striker uses Fists of Havoc to destroy it IMMEDIATELY after I plant it. I don't die because WoD contains the damage, and I'm outside the bubble. The same EXACT THING happens in the next clip. Nova Bomb does not kill a Titan inside a bubble unless they run Shatter, in which case one projectile destroys it, and the others kill the Titan. Vortex will also kill them if they stand in it. I have unused footage of this I can upload. So as it turns out, you're completely wrong. That's pretty ironic. I'm reverting back to my original assessment that Razors Edge and Showstopper destroy the bubble since I've seen it happen, and I appear to be a much more reliable source of information. Edie: just realized I stop a nova bomb at like 1:20 and save my entire team, so there's proof of that.

Omg just watched that vid. You had me rolling and in tears with some of those clips! Mainly the mario sound effects and the one Contra BGM moment...priceless. And i must say you have the bounces for those suppressors pretty damn good. I mostly use striker over defender (only DEF when i roll with my fireteam and go full support mode) so i learned how to get my lightning spikes placed in really dirty spots on walls, ceilings, and a few Hail Mary's thru small windows onto tiny railing in just the right spots. Bravo to you sir, and thanks for the giggles, lol
-
Thanks. I made two other montages, you should check them out! They're on my channel, and they're all in the same vein (ie good gameplay with funny clips).

Nova bombs don't penetrate the bubble. But players that use the "shatter" perk will outright destroy the bubble, since it fires three projectiles instead of one. The standard nova or novas with vortex mastery will do a good amount of damage to the bubble, which will allow a mag or 2 of weapon fire to finish it off.
-
I've killed with a single nova bomb without shooting after. I still maintain that bubbles do not have health.
-
I can tell you with experience that they do. I main as a titan and have a warlock as a secondary. I've been on both sides of the situation. A fresh bubble can take a direct hit from a nova and not be destroyed unless shatter is used. If you fired a nova at the bubble and killed the titan inside, that just means he/she overestimated the bubbles strength and stood too close to the forward edge. When i drop my bubbles i stay on the far edge to prevent the radius of the explosion killing me. Also, in doing so it maximizes my chances of killing bladedancers foolish enough to try and take on the "thunderdome challenge", lol But the bubble itself can be destroyed if enough force is used, whether it be with supers or with standard weapons. You may not think that the bubble has health to it, but it does. If they didn't then it wouldn't be possible for anything to destroy them. But since it takes 2 GG shots, 1 shatter nova, 1 striker slam, and about 5-6 grenades to destroy it, then obviously there is health to it. You cannot deny those facts alone. All this video showed is that the ground wave from the blade dancer circumvented the bubble entirely. A GG with the keyhole perk can also just shoot thru the bubble and kill anyone inside, but that is besides the point.
-
He's wrong. I posted footage of it happening. I'm annoyed that he came in here acting like he knew what he was talking about when he didn't know WoD stops Nova Bomb. Especially because of his whole "it's annoying when people are dumb" speech.
-
Yeah there is alot of that on the forums. More people talk out of their asses than they should. But even when video or factual evidence is given, they'll still try to argue against the facts. I just chuckle to myself and move on.
