I'd love to agree, but there are some people who simply cannon stop gaining weight. I have a friend that is gluten free, that runs, dances, and is so healthy that sometimes when we go eat somewhere I'll be the only one eating. She is very healthy and takes great care of herself. She isn't fat, but she should look very fit. She doesn't. Doctors know something is wrong with her hormonally but they don't know what. They keep telling her to eat healthy and exercise regularly but she already does. It's not her choice. She does everything in her power to stay fit

I understand that there are extreme outliers, but then again, she may be eating too large of portions or even too few calories as both extremes can lead to weight gain. And the thing is, with your friend, she is actively trying everything to be healthy and not just spewing bullshit that HAES activists say. There's a difference.

  • Trust me. She's on a modified diet. They think it could be caused by a brain tumor she had taken out last spring. She's trying her best. I'm not familiar with the organization. All I know is that if anyone told my friend that she needed to lose weight and that she was unhealthy, etc. I'm not sure I could stop myself from resorting to violence.

  • Therefore in this case it is in fact a health problem

  • And I'm saying she shouldn't be judged for it. As long as she isn't I'm cool

  • That's an extremely small minor toy, and even then, you never know, she might binge eat without your or others knowledge.

  • I'd know. I've been her best friend for 10 years. So would her family. They literally don't have anything else in the house besides healthy stuff. Basically what I'm saying is it's not her fault, and I'm sure there are people out there like her

  • And you are absolutely correct. But those people are, if I had to guess, less than 5% of the population. They aren't really the issue.

  • Just making sure, I guess. There's always an exception

  • Exactly. There aren't a whole lot of black and white things in the world...
