This next dlc will decide if I keep playing or take a break for a while...the fact that your hard earned raid gear becomes useless is just fd up

Not really... I mean, how then would you account for new things of value? If your 6 month old (or 1 year, whatever) gear is still relevant, then how would you recommend making the game fresh? I'm just trying to understand this point of view
-
I'm not saying 6 months that's too much. I'm saying that it'd be nice to have your gear slowly be replaced over time maybe 1 month? idk.The fact that you could get better gear from vendors way easier than raid gear is not good.

I hear you. Using the most recent TDB release as an example, though... so your level 30 gear became obsolete because the vendors put out level 31 gear. But the Raid stuff (and later, some IB gear) put you in the realm of 32. It feels like a decent progression for me, but then again I don't raid often so maybe I'm not getting the whole picture. The Raid weapons have cool perks that (mostly) make them worth the chase. But I feel the recent raid armor perks, while being a bonus compared to vendor stuff, are still a bit on the weak side. I dunno. I think Bungie is trying out a few different ideas to see what sticks. for instance, it's pretty clear that VOG stuff is better than TDB stuff. maybe we'll see a 3rd version with HOW, or maybe they'll try to perfect what they already showed us.

umm.... except its barely 3 month old gear, not six. Idk maybe they could actually just add some CONTENT.... That would make the game fresh lol.

The questions remains unchanged... What do you suggest to keep thing fresh, content wise, if not new weapons and gear? How do you propose making the VOG gear relevant while still bringing people back?
