I've beaten, or almost beaten, Crota with every strategy listed above (execpt for an MLG no bubble "strategy").
The funny thing is, every group tells me their strategy is the "best."
I thought killing the swordbearer under the boomers and bubble right/left stairs would be best but I've had trouble getting people to try it. The "secret" middle bubble strategy was perhaps the "best" I've seen, but I ran it with a group that regularly runs it that way.
How do you (try to) down Crota?
Edit: Should have added it's different every time... Just choose the one you usually run. Mine is bubble on Crota platform.

I'm not posting the best strategy.... Message in game and I will share It's not on ur list either :)

Beat it 20 times, and I run the sword, we have all other 5 guardians on ledge just to drop swordbearer and Crota, Titans r not needed but r nice to have in first room in start

Edited by Batz: 2/3/2015 8:58:10 AMI always run the sword without titan support. It's not that having titan support is a bad thing, It's just that it takes an extra person to do it and those pugs cant be trusted with anything.

for hunters you can do it without worrying about boomers at all. Use the center pedestal, go invisible and jump up and hit crota from behind dead center to not aggro boomers on you. Then blink to go invis, hit him again and then leave. As long as you are standing center attacking crota you don't worry about boomers at all.

Invisible hunter.

2 RepliesEdited by Dim: 2/3/2015 4:02:51 AMIf you don't want to 2 sword him, here is the easiest way... This was me proving to some friends that it is not that hard to do with 5 random LFGers. Destiny - Crota Hard Mode: http://youtu.be/l1JPUeG8m08

3 RepliesPlease explain the "secret strat"

Most of my group is hunters and warlocks but we all have alts so we have some titan like one or two each time, we don't use a people besides for ogres and the beginning

Tower purple titties combined with going under a tower to burn one ogre then snipe down the other from under said tower works pretty easy for my group, we just stay on the left stairs about the whole time

3 RepliesFor anyone that seriously chooses "MLG," care to elaborate how you go about it? Same as normal? (Kill boomers, kill wizard)

2 RepliesRun up through the right with the sword and have a titan aggro them from the platform with a ward. After 2 passes we drop down into the ogre room. Then we wait for Crota to go right and we drop the swordbearer and I grab the sword. A titan then drops his/her ward and then we drop Crota's shield, I enrage him, drop it again, then I kill him. Here it is in action. http://youtu.be/-8qrR3ScICA

5 RepliesEdited by Cypher02xd: 2/3/2015 3:15:40 AMTitan bubble at top of stairs on right. Thid also allows the titan to poke out the back and shoot rockets. This serves three purposes. 1: draws agro from boomers 2: with gift of the void generates 8 orbs for teammates. 3: provides for a safe route for teammates and sword bearer to get back inside. Go to ogre room after second sword and take out Fiona. I pop bubble with blessing to cover half the door way and generate orbs from ogre. Shrek goes down before he passes Crota platform. Everyone grab blessing and run in. A warlock spamming grenades helps here to clear the thrall out and generate orbs for your last run. Then you are at the point I started recording here. Edit: don't mind my jumping. I was trying to spot sword bearer

We have done it with no bubbles it's the only way me and my clan know how

I've beaten crota on hard about 2 dozen times. Tried most of these strats. The one my group has settled on is no titan bubbles. I use invis to get to crota and blink strike for the second set of hits. This is a safe way to get 7 hits per sword. No bubbles are needed to distract or block boomers if you stand in the right spot while hurtng crota. We do use bubbles to give over shield at certain points while running past the boomers but thats it.

3 RepliesMy group did Titan bubble on the right strategy. I'm not 32 yet, but as soon as I am I'll most likely be the Sword bearer again. I'll use the Hunter triple invis strategy(made it up myself). Assault 1: Take a knee and get invis. Stand at Crota's feet till he goes down. Attack. Assault 2: Escape Artist back into invis. Wait for his shield to go down 2nd time. Attack. Assault 3: Shortly before Crota stands back up from previous assault, drop sword, activate Bladedancer, use invis. Attack 3rd time and bail. That was one sword run.
