Would anyone be an atheist knowing that there is no heaven for them?

*sizzles* I'm basically a fake atheist. The only religion related thing I "believe"(more hope) is for reincarnation
-
Yes, I'm perfectly content with my life fading into nothingness when I die. It's a simple fact of life, you live and you die. All things that begin must end, there's no way to avoid it. So why not embrace it?
-
As if there's a choice involved? I didn't wake up one day and decide there was no god. I was never really introduced to religion. The UK is a largely atheistic country. I have never found any of the religions I've encountered to be more plausible than the next, so I've never had any belief in God. I've never felt like there was anything out there. I'm fine with that, it just seems to make sense to me. I don't have choice here, and maybe you didn't choose your beliefs either - they just seem right to you.
-
The UK is extremely Roman Catholic lmfao.
-
Where the hell did you get that from? A 1950s census?
-
2012 actually
-
What percentage of the UK population was Catholic in 2012? I can't find the info. But in 2013 we were 50.6% 'no religion'.
-
Sorry meant 2011 which was 59.3%. It's also the most recent census Google brings up, so, are you're eyes turning brown? It seems you're full of shit pal.

Edited by Stickman Al: 1/28/2015 8:15:31 AMWait a minute, you're claiming the UK was 59% Catholic in 2011 and you're telling me I'm full of shit? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah a hahahahahahaha. That is so far from accurate I'd love to know where you're getting these figures. Link please? Edit - a 2010 census showed the Catholic population to have risen slightly to 7% due to an influx of eastern Europeans. That's quite a huge difference to your figures. Edit 2 - http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/rel/census/2011-census/key-statistics-for-local-authorities-in-england-and-wales/sty-religion.html If this is your source it clearly shows its referring to Christians not Catholics. Church of England (unsurprisingly) is the biggest Christian denomination in the UK.

Wow, I thought we were having a normal conversation here, what got you so angry?
-
Yeah. Such a belief would require the assumption that god is real.
