I am curious about the timing of the rockets to down Crota. Even on Normal, it's sometimes a struggle to get him down twice. If you had told me it was possible to down Crota three times in one sword, I'd have laughed in your face and used some interesting internet words to describe your family. Any tips or trick on how you guys accomplished this?

In the best runs I've done on Normal, it's more effective for the fireteam to wait until the Swordbearer gets into a good position, and then the Swordbearer give the signal to shoot Crota. This avoids bringing down Crota's shield too early and wasting the Sword or precious ammo. Also, at least in Normal mode, you can reliably bring down Crota's shield with properly leveled primary/secondary weapons, as long as you focus fire and don't let up.

the 3 downs in one sword generally works better with a hunter that goes invisible next to crota method

Thanks for the replies guys! What I've generally done is have the Sword Carrier hide until we say "He's Down!" Then the Sword Bearer does his thing. Makes it difficult to get 2 downs and 3 swings per down.

Not to be rude, but unless I'm misunderstanding I'm not sure how you're even killing Crota on Normal if the swordbearer is waiting until Crota is on a knee to start moving towards him.

The sword carrier stays on block until Crota is down. He doesn't wait right from when he gets the sword :)

You can attack crota the second he is going into his kneeling animation. You are losing a ton of time doing it your way. Practice getting in there sooner.

Have the sword guy call out when he's ready then have everyone fire a rocket at that time. He jumps up as soon as rockets are away.

What my group does is when I hit that rock on the right I say "hit him" and then I jump and start smashing even if he is not down. I've gotten 5-6 hits in one jump doing that. This vid works just fine as the shooting also attracts the boomers to the group. The hard part is the last sword ur gonna have to shoot the hope the sword guy is already landing to avoid the oversoul

Exactly crotas shield goes down before he kneels which allows 2 extra hits or so depending on your combo. Timing is everything
