The answer to your problems.
No need to fire a single shot.
Hunter set all perks to invisibility. Including duration perk. Then set all remaining perks to agility maxed and recovery maxed. Then choose armor that decreases cool down for blink strike. Also choose a gun that increases agility.
To start go near the first lamp and kill thrall until you have your super. Go back to starting area and cleanse weight of darkness. Then run to first lamp, either blink strike the first thrall or crouch for invisibility. Alternatively if you can make it to the second lamp without getting melee then do that. THEN crouch or blink for invisibility. Continue this through all the lamps.
Remember to pay attention to your cool downs and don't use your super until the ogre or if you're in a pinch. This will take many practice runs to get the rhythm down. Much easier with Don't touch me gauntlets but still possible.
Once at the final area activate the plate. Stay there until all the thrall are upon you and blink the closest one. Then run to the lamp in front of you. Ideally you haven't activated this lamp yet. Jump on the rock as your invisibility should have ceased by then. Just before the lamp explodes crouch for invisibility and hop down next to the rock. Then hop back up for safety and go invisible one more time before ogre shows up.
At this point all you do is run to the big rock to the left of the little rock. Hide behind it. All the thrall should be by the lamp. Behind this large rock, which is near the far left ledge you can remain undetected, mostly, without being invisible. If you have to, go invisible and run to the next rock. Keep hiding and eventually the bridge will construct and then just run through.
The large rocks have small crevasses in them that provide excellent cover. Additionally if you are to far away from the bridge IT WILL NOT BUILD, IT WILL NOT BUILD. You will be waiting for a long time like I did.
The key is invisibility management. Remember your super Vanish perk is a last resort.
Any questions just ask.

I saw a nice twist on this last night. A hunter in our fire team would get to the lamps take off weight of darkness and jump on top of the lamps. Kept him away from the thrall as he got his invisibility ready.

This is an awesome write-up! Thanks for taking the time! Question: I've soloed this section in normal mode. I'd like to try it on hard mode but I don't get the option even when I select 'Reset' when I select the raid. Some details: I've only completed the lamps section so my checkpoint is on the bridge; I've never completed the raid on normal; on xbox one; level 31 hunter. Any help would be appreciated!

Your issue is that even when you choose "Restart," you still start at the bridge checkpoint? And if I understand, you are attempting to restart on Hard mode? If this is the case, I've had your problem before. I think the "Restart" gets cancelled when you change difficulty. Try choosing "Restart" and starting the Raid without changing the difficulty, then go back to orbit and you should be able to start Hard mode (no need to choose restart again) and be at the beginning. I've had to do this for story missions, I don't know if it will work the same for the raids.

Hmm that's interesting. I'm not sure if your system could be the problem. I'm on ps4. You should be able to go to the moon, nightlight the raid icon and it'll give you the option to resume or restart. The A button should be resume and the X button should be restart. Since you said it doesn't give you the option the next thing I'd assume is too low a level, but I did it at 31 so you should be able to as well. Last option, wait till Tuesday reset. Good luck.

I used a very similar strategy, but tried to kill the ogre. 1 shot away when he wiped me off the rock. The hiding advice and spec for the class is very good info. I used ice breaker for lightweight. And had toughness and speed... Was running with my bro who was Warlock, he went to jump from 2nd lamp, and whichever of us finished first, wins. He won, but I consistently got to the end 3x to get killed by ogre our thrall when I jumped down to hide from ogre. 4th try, he got there first and killed ogre with black hammer and went into the light.

Yeah I have a warlock and was unable to jump from the second lamp to the ledge. Maybe my technique was off. I thought they patched it. Any advice for a warlock and a titan?
-
Warlock, agility to Max, weapon with lightweight (mida multi tool is best)... I'm not sure what glide he used... Probably focused burst. Titan, high jump. Else same as above. He made the jump about 1/4 of the time with the Warlock, and almost every time with titan (titan is his main).

Thank you for the kind word.

Thanks mate - your advice helped!

No problem. Glad someone actually put it to use.

Mida multi-tool and don't touch me make this so much simpler

Not everybody has those items though.

Dorothyprez is dead on, I did this solo myself last night as a 31Hunter. Spec your hunter for invisibilty, and as much strength as you can stack on. By alternating between blink strike invis and crouch invis you should be able to go invis and clear the weight of darkness at each lamp. Don't touch me gloves are excellent to have as well as there will be times when things will go sideways on you. The key point then is to keep moving because if you're standing still and the swarm catches you, 3-4 thralls will strike you even though the first will make you invis, and you'll die. Agility is the most important stat to increase, and carrying the mida/murmur/icebreaker for lightweight is critical. As for recovery or toughness I'd prioritize toughness. Invisibility should last long enough for recovery to kick in even at the lowest setting, and the extra toughness hopefully will help if thralls do get close enough to strike. Trying to kill the ogre solo at the end is going to be next to impossible, even with ghorn/icebreaker/black hammer, so saving your super for then is critical. I jumped onto the right pillar that is beside the bridge and waited. Just as the ogre got into range to eye blast me I popped my super, dropped down and took cover behind the pillar, and just stayed invis. The bridge was almost built by this point so I just waited it out and then ran accross. Good luck guardian

Good tips from everyone but I will add that with GHorn or Black Hammer it isn't too hard to kill the ogre. I've done it every time.
-
Maybe as a 32, but not as a 31
-
Point taken. Still doable if you gave a maxed BHammer though if you can hit criticals the whole time. It makes the ogre stumble and he won't ever start shooting. Just don't miss lol.

Might try this tonight.

cheers mate :)
