'We want you to earn your gear. We want you to have a memory attached to earning that gear and say I beat that boss on Mars on the hardest setting.'
Or say screw it and buy it from Xur because our RNG system is so broken because we slanted the drop rate so hard core in favor of boosting game play hours that you will never get that gun you want. Because in our minds, and that of Activision, we believe the more hours we can get you to play the more likely you are to spend more money through DLC.
I just assumed that's the other half of what DeeJ was thinking
NAILED IT.
We don't just want your memory to be "well angry joe gave it to me"
Because Xur is so different /rolleyes

Edited by Greatshock: 1/20/2015 2:21:46 AMI agree. Especially since you can make 3 of the same characters, and get 27 coins per week. There are some guys with over 200 coins right now.

Because you can't make 3 different characters for the same 27 coins a week lol.

I've got 120 and haven't played in weeks. I can't find a reason to anymore.

Legit. I was only playing for the Iron banner. Looks like the only thing I have left to do is save some coins incase xur finally sells something good.
-
xur is still earning. you have to earn those coins. when you work all week and buy a new set of speakers and listen to them. it does seem a bit cooler than someone giving them to you. i think that's the feeling deej wanted to try and get across

This isn't me talking down to people who buy things from xur. I have and will continue to do so. I have 0 RNG luck. Xur exists bexause this RNG is broken and slanted in such a way to boost game play hours. Instead of fixing it Bungie just slowly leaks gear for the community one morsel at a time. One example I can give is the last IB event. I wanted Timurs lash so I played the hell out of IB. I was level 5 by Thursday and played 20 or more games every night. Never got it. But I kept going because of the RNG and me thinking I could get it. The I find out the drop rate for that gun was 1/365. That's a ridiculous drop rate. But they got what they wanted and I played a ton to get an item I had little chance for.

No stop justifying this system and xur. DeeJ clearly said he wanted a memory attached to earning loot. Buying something is not what was meant.
