Needs more to it... what are you proposing you need to do? People have tried to activate Vex Gates with Pocket Infinity before... there must be something else to this?

I think people are right in thinking that it is used to open a gate, but maybe people aren't using the right gates or the right conditions haven't been met to trigger something. I've also found places in the vault that I haven't tested the PI on yet, need to go in and do tests. Fire at at a conflux, use it to destroy oracles, there could be many things that can be tested.

All Vex weapons are "doorways". Their firing mechanism is basically a portal that opens time and space to a point where super heated plasma is and fires it from the weapon. As much said love the theories, the other grimoire cards state this.
-
I have seen this in the grimoire as well. Still, to me this doesn't disprove the PI.
-
Doesn't disprove it, but does make it all the more unlikely. The description has a credible reasoning behind it. I've got some theories on what could possibly spawn chests, but no longer have the equipment to test them... Basically, with the Gorgon's maze, send a Titan wearing full raid gear through without being seen and leave the Fireteam behind. Once the Titan is at the chest spawn, have the Fireteam kill a gorgon. I believe the chest maybe available only when the gorgons gaze is active and the doors are closed (gorgons gaze is a trigger as it's already proven with the chest doors closing). An article relating to the Vault of Glass raid, an interview with the lead designer, states that they had additional help making sure that chests opened in the raid do not despawn so all Fireteam members can receive the chests...

I'm definitely gonna try this. The reason why I believe the PI plays some sort of role is because of the bounty steps. It requires the mind fluid of a vex GATElord, "the key to its dying secret." In the grimoire, it states that the mind fluid of a Gatelord contains the code to enter "forbidden realms" This to me SCREAMS mystery. I also think looking through the scope of the Mythoclast could be a trigger. Once while I was descending the crystal tunnel into the Gorgon's labyrinth, I looked down the scope of my Vex and became marked. Tried to look for a chest spawn while marked, but we were spotted by a gorgon and wiped, losing the mark. The definition of Mythoclast is "breaker of myths", and the scope itself looks like a Vex eyeball lens. If PI was made as a way to trail off people from the true secret, then I believe the true weapon to trigger something would be the Vex. I refuse to believe that there is nothing going on with either of those weapons beyond what we know.
-
What if PI was used to open something. But you couldn't see it or interact with it unless you were ADS with vex.....
-
I've tried this a lot. I've gotten myself randomly marked in the Gorgon's tunnels by ads with my vex.
-
By all means do. I haven't got either weapons, but likewise, it's one thing having a "key" but without the lock it's useless. Keep searching.
-
In other words you would need a raid team that has acquired all the vog weapons and gear
-
Doubtful, since you cannot pick up the line rifle or slap cannon etc... I think the description on PI is to throw people off into the wild dreams we all have in Bungie games. Secret of Sandtrap, anyone?

There's a grimoire card, sorry I can't remember which one or the actual content But it says something about the vault can't be opened by one person, but he opened it, he was alone but he had people with him (something like that) Confusing content as it could mean different things - I heard some guy had opened the vault using a pi, there was a video. But he didn't share how he did it or what happened after.

1. Is it 100% true that he's referring to the actual vault of glass and it can not be opened by a single person? 2. Kabr is referring to his team that were deleted from existence. He never knew they existed but knew he can't have come alone and thus knows he was alone but was not. 3. The act of being "alone" is thwarted by the inventor of Super Good Advice, after witnessing Kabr's end, he constructed the weapon so he would never be alone in the darkness again. With each of these three points, in all reality the best chance of the door opening to a single person would be the person who is holding Super Good Advice. As this is the only scenario in which there is more than one "person".
