Don't join. Its sick that grown men send young boys to fight their wars for them in the name of greed and all that is evil.

Edited by Clay COCKWIDTH: 1/5/2015 1:52:10 PMFunny that, you look at every war and see people from across the globe spilling each others blood for a cause they may not know/believe in. War is sad, simple. Look back at the history of war in the US. You'll see that something changed after ww2. It was the way death was dealt, not so much in the korean war but that lead up to this disconnect that people feel when hitting someone with a shell from 1 mile out, it just doesn;'t FEEL like combat. During the early wars it was said that over 80% of all soldiers would not intentionally shoot an enemy, even if their lives depended on it!!. Can you believe that? It's because of the physical proximity of combat in those days. Made death very, very real. And people don't inherently want to kill other people. I know that was completely off topic. But i see your point when you look at the big picture: a guy in a chair in an office signs a piece of paper which leads to an 18 yr old from oklahoma getting on a plane, heading 14,000 miles away and taking another mans life. That's just how shit works, like it or not.

What's sick are jackasses like you that think that everything would be the same without a military to protect your country. But, like the majority of upcoming adults today, if you don't stand for anything, you'll fall for everything.

People that join the military usually do it to better their life. You have the 1% that joins it to fight, but most use it as a way out of a bad situation, learn discipline, and learn something that you can take to a civilian job outside of the military. Don't hate on the military because they're fighting our wars, hate the politicians that send them there. Joining the military is a great way to better yourself and opens a ton of doors when you leave.

It's a cycle, everyone is to blame. Only the governments and corporations win.
