Thanks for the compliment, but it appears that they have made significant strides in releasing updates that are mostly free of "new bugs". At least not ones that cause such wide-spread chaos, as the one or two that prompted my original post.
I learned what I know about testing, fixing, and deploying extremely high traffic applications, in a trial-by-fire situation, working 80+ hours a week just to keep the ship afloat, and eventually learning all of the nuances of the system that could cause chaos if not handled with extreme care.
I suspect that the folks at Bungie have been going through a very similar process. The important point is that they seem to be learning from their mistakes...
