No buddy. Those are still opinions. Just like the employees at IGN have opinions. Just because they write it down on paper doesn't make it fact. Destiny is not on IGN's game of the year list. So what? If it is on your list, then that is all that matters.

Edited by PatInTheHat 94: 1/5/2015 8:26:57 PMOk "buddy" well if you think it's okay for a game of this genre/style to have less content/area than a previous-generation game such as Halo... go do your homework son. What IS a fact is that we know these developers are capable of much, much more. There is proof of content and cinematics that used to be in the game that aren't. So if they failed to reach their own standard, that would mean Destiny falls short of their true capabilities. Thus, both #1 and #2 are fact. And if you are truly satisfied with it, I don't take your input as a gamer seriously and I leave you alone with your opinion.

The only thing Halo has going for it is the story and gun play. The level designs were generally ass and the multiplayer was only popular because it was really the only online multiplayer for consoles at the time. It was a good franchise but it wasn't the greatest thing ever made for gaming like most ppl believe it was. And why even compare Halo and Destiny? They are two different games from two different times in two different genres. Destiny might not have the quality of story as Halo but neither does Halo have any character customization or shared world experience.

^This man makes a valid point. Halo had an edge because it cornered the market at the time. Destiny emerged into a sea of competition. Some deserved, some rather stretching it. The big problem is that it's not "Halo The MMO." I feel that, the way the game is done works fine. I think probably 85% of people who play most shooters aren't really too concerned with the story besides "go herr. shot aliens. kil alien." So the separation makes sense from that standpoint.

Edited by PatInTheHat 94: 1/7/2015 9:20:49 PMI'm not saying the game isn't good. I like the game. I play it almost daily. But, I'm using Halo, and the undeniably expansive levels and areas within the campaigns themselves (The "level designs were generally ass"? What planet are you on?) to make a point that we know that these developers are capable of a wicked amount of content and features. Yes, it cornered the market and dominated its time, but in amount of actual cold, hard data and content and amount of things you could visually see/explore, Halo was expansive compared to our initial Destiny. More is coming for Destiny, but I think paying our way to the game we should've been given to start with is a little disappointing. Bottom line, they were capable of more without much challenge. It comes off as sloppy. I will continue to play because its a fun and addictive universe but I'm hoping we will get better treatment for our loyalty to these developers.
