Yes

No

if you are for or against state why. bungie has formally stated they will never and have no intentions of implimenting one, but maybe if enough of the forum pop agrees or disagrees they could in a perfect world listen. I believe there should be. not for the players or to fix the shitty loot system, but for bungie to keep it's gamers. From a PR standpoint your loot system is flawed, and you have no intent on changing it, so let the players fix it by letting them trade. the game is at a point where there is little to no real world value on raid gear or loot if you are saying there's no trade for RWT prevention.

  • No, simply because it is more complex than people realize and would have to contain so many restrictions and changes to the valuation of items and currency, that people would not be happy with it. It would also need to be adaptive and responsive, constantly changing with supply and demand. Any shortcutting around the basic tenants of a real-world economy will only make the system exploitable and cause even more animosity amongst members of the community. It is all too easy to work around most of the false constraints that people suggest, leaving room for people who would exploit the system for real-world currency exchanges. Then, instead of people whining just about Xur, they will be whining about people who "got their exotics from a Chinese farmer on eBay". In the end, both parties would need to have the same level of sacrifice in making a trade. If Bungie can do it, great - however, it is not something that could quickly or easily be turned around. I feel that it would be a mistake to put that sort of effort into the current iteration of the game for a single feature, in my opinion. There are much more important things that they could be putting effort into, and saving broad-sweeping and complex changes for development on future versions.
