My vote is no, that's not because I have everything I want in this game because I absolutely do not. My reasoning is because it will undermine the whole RNG design, I know most people will say this might not be a bad thing but let's consider the fact that the game has been released for almost 4 months and is a few weeks into its first expansion and most people have most of the things they want. I mean, is it really that hard to get weapons and gear? Grant it I want g-horn and have never even seen one drop but the game already has some "false" difficulties to prolong it (eg; weekly limitations on running raids for loot, the whole mark system, the bounty system). By implementing trading they'll be making more thing more accessible earlier, while that might be great for the gamer (especially us console gamers as we need to be able to beat the game in one binged sitting) but would ultimately undermine the longevity Bungie is trying to create, false or not. I guess this whole thing falls on content. Obviously, destiny did not deliver in the way most of us had hoped or even as they had advertised. We want a deeper story, deeper side factions, more strikes, more of an "open-world" and because these things aren't there we have these false difficulties. Hopefully as another expansion comes out and destiny continues to evolve Bungie takes these things as serious as we have as a community and addresses them. Halo was very in depth and had a great story, albeit the game was linear. With destiny they made the game a little less linear but less in depth as well...I mean the back story is unlock able in grimoire cards that you can't even read in game. So hopefully destiny continues to evolve and become greater than it already is. It's said over and over to be a 10 year franchise for a company who has never done an RPG I think they did a lot of good things but need to do a lot more. So as shitty as it sounds consider this first iteration of destiny a beta and be happy that Bungie has said that your current characters will be able to be ported into their next iteration...whatever that actually means remains to be seen. For now, back to the actual topic...just avoid trading, be patient and pray to RNGesus every night. TLDR; short answer, no to trading...there's some reasoning in that text wall.

  • Well thought out, and I agree with your viewpoints. I find that people will always find aspects of a game to be disappointed with, and that overall the rng system in this game has been the scapegoat. I don't believe a trading system is the answer to this "issue" as it would only cause the intrinsic value of the game to diminish. Why raid for gear if you can just buy it? It would make the endgame activities useless and with no reward. I know my favorite part of the raids /nightfall is hitting that checkpoint and watching what pops up. Taking away that satisfaction from players would cause many people to lose interest.
