As we all know, with the release of The Dark Below, all current exotics are upgradeable at Xur (depending on availability). For weapons, this increases the maximum attack from 300 to 331.
However, slightly before the DLC, Bungie buffed the Vex Mythloclast from 300 to 323. This has created confusion on whether or not the VM will be upgradeable to 331.
Personally, I would very much like to see a buff available to the Vex Mythoclast, like all other Exotics; as at the moment the weapon is below all other Exotic Weapons (Max ATK of 323 compared to 331 of all other Exotic Weapons). I do not feel that this particular Exotic should be sub-par; especially when considering the difficulty of obtaining it.
My question to you Guardians is what do you think should happen to the Vex Mythoclast's attack values? Attached to this post is a poll for you to vote.
PS: @Bungie @DeeJ - I, and many other Guardians, would like to see an official response on the upgradablility of the Vex Mythoclast
Thank you for reading and have a good day,
EDIT - Please BUMP this post so Bungie has a higher chance of seeing it. Hopefully they can give some sort of verdict.
MAJOR EDIT - It seems DeeJ has confirmed on Twitter that due to the VoG exclusivity of the Vex Mythoclast, it is not going to be available to upgrade. This news comes just a day after patch 1.1.0.3; which bumped the ATK of all other VoG exotics to 331 (Whilst the Vex Mythoclast has been confirmed to still be 323).
Looks like we lost this time, Guardians. The Vex Mythoclast will soon become a faded memory.
RIP. Vex Mythoclast 2014-2015.

It should be higher then the 331. When the necrochasm becomes available its gonna be higher then 331.

1 ReplyDude the vex is a outdated exotic from the first raid it shouldn't be buffed it should be retired. It is fine where it is, it is still a viable option for raiding so what is the problem? If they buff it to above newer exotics or ones that drop in the new raid what's the prize to the new raid? Deej isn't gonna respond and i seriously doubt the vex will be altered again. You want better guns farm crota raid
-
10 RepliesVoG is laughably easy at 31. Vex shouldn't go above 331. It is no longer rare or hard to obtain.
-
The Vex Mono should be.... In my Inventory damn you bungie !
-
I say the vex should be buffed a lil after the average exotics and for all VoG raid weapons to get a slight damage buff maybe a 310 so they can keep up to the new legendaries not saying they dont now but thats just how i feel
-
13 RepliesVex doesn't deserve an upgrade any more than other raid weapons. In fact it deserves it less since it's already higher than them and it's not hard to get.
-
1 ReplyWe're getting a harder version of vault of glass, I'm assuming we're getting a better vex mythoclast, and upgraded vog raid gear.
-
1 ReplyUpgrade! This weapon is special, so it should be awesome, I mean, it is great, but it could be better! They should make a weapon like VM for Crota too, even stronger. If someone beats those raids on hard, he should be awarded!

It should at least become upgradeable to match the other exotics although Id prefer it to be stronger. It would give some motivation to play old content and keep VoG relevant.

I would understand if vog legendarys would be buffed to 220 but the vex - at least the hard mode weapons? There is simply no sound reasoning for item lvl progression at bungie
-
2 RepliesAll exotics are upgradable through Xur. Where is the confusion? He's eventually going to have the upgrade available and you'll be able to take it to 350 or 353.
-
I'll bump that all night
-
It is an exotic first and foremost, and bungie said all exotics are upgradeable. VoG does not drop 2.0 exotics, the week TDB came out, I got Suros from the exotic chest, it still had an attack of 300. So I feel that one of the weeks we will see the vex in the upgrade list and its attack will likely go up to about 350
-
The Vex is a VoG Exotic. I say they just make it a Black Item (black being ultra rare) and allow you to use it with other weapons.
-
Its a exotic so im hopiny he will do the upgrade for it but if he doesnt then it will be one of the lowest exotic in the game which is the hardest gun to get and it would be stupid if they dont
-
Unless they decide to give it more ammo then idc. VM is a great gun (in pvp) still. As for dmg I'd say yes 331 because pre patch exotics were 300 and now they surpass this gun (which is bull with just a hint of horse shit)
-
It should either get buffed to 331 or be upgradeable to further than that
-
1 ReplyEdited by Noctroglyph: 12/25/2014 11:26:59 PMRemember that a 335 and a 321 will have no difference at all on a level 30 enemy. Or even a level 32 enemy. At level 33, you will see a difference, though. The first two digits tell you what light level your weapon is 100% effective against. After that the impact delivery falls off significantly. So, unless the next raid has enemies that are over light level 33, there is no reason to buff a weapon any higher than 339.

2 RepliesIf they buff Vex above 331 then I swear to god my fatebringer better have 331 attack.
-
1 ReplyBump! Make it really rare as the more content is added but make the gun still relevant
-
A whopping 8 attack added to it isn't going to do all that much to it. The Vex is an exotic but is also a raid weapon. All VoG weapons don't have a 2.0 version, Vex included, which makes sense.
-
*Bump*
-
Buff it up, but make it a heavy weapon.
-
Upgrading damage to/above 331 would be a good thing. Honestly my biggest issue is running out of ammo, clip is fine, but in pve should hold 400-500. Athens ep, Voc, etc all hold plenty, it should get a bigger amount of total ammo and I would use it again!
