Vault of Glass Coding Oversight
The Vault of Glass is still dropping the older versions of Exotic weapons. I hope that's an oversight in code, elsewise the incentive to continue fighting Atheon is boiled down to Ascendant material, which you can obtain on your own, without pulling together a group.
I picked up The Ice Breaker, and it was capped at 300 damage, after defeating Atheon on Hard. Please fix it at your earliest convenience.

1 ReplyThe vault of glass is nothing but a coding oversight. But I'm sure the VoG exotics are intended that way.

1 ReplyThere is no reason for the Vault to drop upgraded exotics. Max level is 30, therefore drops adhere to the 300 ATK model. If you want to upgrade it, just hold onto it until Xur shows up with it in his inventory. The only places with good odds of getting upgraded exotics are the Nightfall, Crucible, and Crota's End. Only two of which actually benefit from having the upgraded version available to the player.

1 ReplyEdited by encryptkeeper: 12/16/2014 7:43:19 PMI understand about the raid armor and weapons [like Kabr's Battlecage and The Vision of Confluence], but if you get an exotic weapon drop, shouldn't it be the new sort of exotic with the 331 damage cap, as opposed to the old sort? If it's not, what incentive is there to do the VoG for new players? It's part of the Destiny experience, and is full of rich mythos and rewarding challenges. However, why would you bother to do that when even the exotic drops are worse off than the gear you can buy from the Vanguard as soon as you reach level 20? I would like to give Bungie devs the benefit of the doubt and consider that they were rushed at jump street for the DLC expansion and did not do due diligence with coding for the Vault of Glass raid - the loot tables weren't updated. Benefit of the doubt or no, it should be fixed right away. Like, today.
