Not even a Cutscene in this "Expansion"? Are you kidding me Bungie?

I just paid $20 for 3 missions that I completed in 45 mins. - No substantial new areas. - No cutscenes. - No in depth explanation of what the -blam!- is going on - Eris literally READS WHAT THE -blam!-ING QUEST DESCRIPTION IS. THAT IS ALL OF THE EXPLANATION YOU GET. The first mission she says go kill the fist of Crota. With NO in depth explanation as to why. Then you do that (Which takes 10 mins) then when you get back she essentially says "Yay you killed the fist of Crota" THATS ALL YOU GET. Then the next two missions have even LESS explanation. The 3 "Story" missions took all of 45 mins to complete. Then on top of that this is LITERALLY just a re-skinned Queens Wrath event. - Female quest giver? Check. - Do stuff for rep? Check. - Buy stuff when you get enough rep? Check. - Minimal explanation on why you are doing what she says? Check. - NPC standing in random section of the tower that sells gear? Check. - Ship is behind said NPC? Check. This is far beyond anything that I have ever seen. This is not even an booster pack let alone an "expansion". To charge $20 for this is an absolute crime. You should be ashamed of this product Bungie. You tell us that our feedback matters and that you are actively changing the game to accommodate said feedback.....where is that is exactly? We say we want more story and you give us even LESS than before. We say we want more in depth explanations and you give us next to nothing. If they do not address this with the upcoming weekly update this will be my last Destiny Experience. I supported them up to this point in the hopes that the DLC would make a marked improvement and all its done is make me feel even worse about the product. The only good thing to come out of this is that this time around the negative reaction is practically unanimous and hopefully that means they won't be able to ignore it\ EDIT 2: I was able to get a refund. I made a thread on how to get a refund if you are on Playstation http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/83680490/0/0/1

Bump two years and lot of upates later. I paid for a product and DLC, for a product that was misleading eg. (cutting of content) No intro for dark below and house of wolves, bungie could just leave the game alone but decided to cut out content. Now the game is even more disjointed then ever, im 3 years late getting the game. to the ones no big deal that the intros gone. Shows hypocrisy because you did have seen it, so you got your fair share out of it. Maybe there in NA You dont have a advertisement watchdog but in UK we do. I was sold a product that not was it suppose to be. So what of destiny 2, what it will do is make me think twice of buying it, i wont buy a product that has "Force" Cut content some time down the line. Sure the DLC may have sucked like all DLC, but the fact remains it was cut and destiny 2 is not immune getting cut too. Edit: Sorry my first ever post is a negative one, i understand a game can have cut content pre release when the game is not release. To cut time and cost. But NOT after release. Is destiny cut content on a massive scale like No Mans sky, that i didnt bought. No it not as NMS had a lot of misleading things. Well 50 pounds is a lot for cut content in NMS.

  • I wish there was more in he expansion, but I feel as I got my money's worth. I think that we got more than all those 15 dollar CoD map packs that people are all too quick to fork over cash for.

  • I really wish there were more cutscenes. Like after you beat Crota or maybe going into Crotas end the vanguard prep you and stuff.

  • There will always be a negative reaction on the forum. People like myself enjoy the game, and never leave feedback about loving Destiny. There's a cutscene you can watch about Dark Below. You said 3 missions was all you got. What about the strike, raid, and PvP maps? You negative pricks will never cease bitching. I hope Bungie filters the constant trolls to view the real feedback. I think the DLC was a great deal, and I had a blast yesterday playing it.

    • I will say this: I did expect more on the story aspect. So a bit disappointed. I will also add that the story missions did have a little more substance than in the original game. But I will also say that I don't necessarily play this game for the story. I was way more excited to receive murmur and look forward to upgrading it than me getting excited about the missions I just played. (The Wakening was really cool). I'm excited on discovering how the new raid gear looks and finally completing the raid. There's this trend in gaming now that states that we NEED a good story to have a good game. Shigeru Miyamoto, the father of Mario games, stating himself that he doesn't understand why story is so important to gaming. That it adds something nice to games, but to say that it is needed is worrisome to him. He feels that gaming should be about your experience with it and that you can get pulled into these world's without a story. I think Destiny accomplishes both these philosophies and it's nice to know that the gameplay has been more important and it shows. Do I wish for a better story? Yea why not. But I believe I got my money's worth with the expansion. I mean, it's the price of a pizza, some wings, and a soda. I'm not going up in arms over that.

Hey, stop it. A lot of people feel that this is a bargain for $20. Some people have literally never played video games before, and do not know what an expansion should be so they are happy to get digitally mugged. Just because you have a higher standard of quality doesn't mean other people can't find enjoyment in shoddy hastily slapped together junk. Not everyone can be so intelligent to get ticked off when they are hoodwinked. Some people like to pay to get punched in the face. You should really just not complain, because if you lead the developers to actually do their jobs, all the people who want to roll in the mud will have to actually face the fact that they were fooled. You are the reason this game sucks, because most players seem to not notice that it actually blows. Let people be blind and dumb, they paid to be led off a cliff like lemmings, why can't they enjoy cracking their skulls on the rocks?

          • It's obvious what they've tried to do with this game They're trying to copy black ops 2 zombies with the linear levels with a few little areas to explore and some puzzles. They've created an on rails experience that, while you have the freedom to move left or right your still moving towards the same small selection of goals Throw in some DLC maps and some reskinned guns, this is CoD marketing at it's best Give them promises and deliever what little content you can to milk people

          • I said this in my own thread, but I had assumed that the DLC would contain at least one new 'patrol' area... not a whole planet, or even a new planet, but a new area to explore. Instead there are three small rooms that you attack bosses in. That is all the PVE in this new DLC. Sure, there are a few special random boss guys hanging out in the Cosmodrome (for everybody), but that's not new content and adds nothing to the world What we got in the DLC (three 'new' missions that feature re-skinned enemies on patrol maps you've visited a hundred times before) are more or less what I expected from the PVE special events. Like... what's here is more or less what I'd expect from a free Queen's Bounty style event, not what I'd expect from a DLC that costs more than a budget game. Look at what Fallout 3/New Vegas/Skyrim and other RPGs were able to offer for the same price. This isn't a MMO/Open-world/RPG DLC - this is a barely even a CoD map-pack. More than being just a little disappointing, I think this has actually put me off the full game. I was, playing 2-5 hours every night , but I was doing so with the assumption that the world would open up and grow with each expansion pack – but this content would be disappointing at even three or four times the size. Maybe I’m being unreasonable… but other than the (neat) voice acting, there is very little here that couldn’t just be a free event It's indicated that there is no growth coming to our shared world, and as a result it's made the whole game feel so much smaller.. If the bounty that requires interaction with Xur doesn’t reveal something a bit special over the weekend, I think I’m done with Destiny.

                • Ever since the Ghost said "Doctor shim? ...nevermind that" it's been clear that Bungie has a similar attitude: "Story? ...nevermind that." If you want a narrative experience, Destiny is probably just not the game for you. It seems like they're aiming for something more along the lines of Dark Souls where the storytelling is environmental and the lore can be explored or not explored at the player's leisure rather than being delivered through cinematic scenes in a standard three-act structure. YMMV on if they achieved that goal successfully or not.

Every other game I've played, that offered DLC, I could complete the main game without the DLC. Now if I wanted more missions, equipment, maps, etc., I could purchase the DLC. With Destiny I can't. To finish the main story, or core part of the game, I need to spend more money. Sorry but I just don't agree with that. What we were told and shown, is no where near that, and there was never any indication that the game had veered so far from what was written and shown prior to launch. IMO.
