9 RepliesWhy should DLC purchasers not get that benefit? We spent money on the DLC to have extra content to our game. We spent $20 or more (limited editions, both dlc's, ghost edition etc.) so we could have extra content. So you miss a week of nightfall and weekly, just man up and buy the -blam!-ing dlc instead of bitching about it. If I spent more money on the game damn right I get exclusives and shit. Bad enough PS4 already gets everything. I hope Xûr sells an exotic this week from the DLC, even though I've been wanting gjallhorn, I hope he does it to spite your dumb ass. Well I've already paid for it (digital guardian) , but I haven't touched the game in over a month ....definitely not what I expected. ...and with that I say if you enjoy the game just buy the damn pass! At this point I don't see vast worlds to explore coming our way anytime soon enjoy :)

It's not about the price of the DLC. I've purchased the DLC and it isn't worth the price Bungie/Activision is asking for it. No one I mean no one here can say that the DLC isn't any different than say a weekly event like Queens Wraith or Iron Banner. If you were lucky enough to not preorder the DLC way in advance. Do yourself a favor and move on to another game already. This one might be worth coming back to. Destiny has potential. But right now it's not worth it.

I am not 100% sure on this, but I read a IGN article yesterday that seemed to imply that this is a one week only issue. Basically it's a promo for the DLC, a type of forced marketing, but next week, it will go back to being the original strike cycle for both NF and Weekly. The new strike will be included in the ROC playlist and that is it.

7 RepliesI am going to respond to this without being a dick. In order to create these separate playlists you desire, there must be a separate server. These servers cost money to create and maintain. Also, more servers, more potential for a crash. So what you would probably get if they were to heed your request would not be what you want. Crucible is easy... Only 12 players max per instance. If you were to make a separate server for activities that cross into public space (strikes), the way they would do it is quarantine those who didn't buy DLC. You would get nothing from the update (world crota swords, new vanguard armor), and you would be unable to play with people who have it. Want to hit the vault of glass with your friends? Nope... They have dark below and you don't. So before you start asking for things like this, try to understand why they did it the way they did. You can't play nightfall for a week... But you can still play with your buddies AND got some cool stuff for free. I think that's not too awful of a trade off, what are your thoughts now?

I believe that if you like a product or service, you pay for it. If you don't like the product or service, or the price is too high, either the product/ service gets better, price goes down, the company goes out of business, or you save enough money to support the product/service. That's this innovative economic model called capitalism. So you can cry like a peasant about not being able to do the weekly, or you can double down, save the twenty , save another twenty for the next expansion, and end this boo hoo b.s. If you're really hurting for twenty bucks, you got more pressing issues than the weekly, and my heart goes out to you. But your priorities are jacked. *edit for grammar*

I only bought the DLC a week or so ago on a whim and honestly for a long time I was planning not to get it. Had I stuck with that decision and ended up in you guys position I would have probably quit destiny or at the very least play a hell of a lot less. Its cool that they are catering to us DLC peeps but I wholeheartedly think that basically banning the people sticking with the base game from end game content this week is entirely unacceptable, and dont tell me the VOG is end game still because everything there aside from the elemental damage primaries are weaker than the items in the tower now. They should not have to fork over more money to become legend after paying 60 dollars for the game. Weekly events were advertised as free content and this nighfall is completely contradictory to that statement. A lot of people rely on the heroics for their supply of strange coins, so likely a lot of people will not have enough coins to buy anything of substance from xur this week either. The DLC is an absolute blast but dont give your players an ultimatum to buy it because if I was in their position I know that would make me not only not want to buy the DLC but probably stop playing altogether.

I had purchased the Guardian Edition to include the immediate DLC. Bungie should allow players to have the product they paid for. The weekly and nightfall strikes as they were before the DLC release. It's not a matter of individual finances it's a matter of the product that was paid for. I sincerely hope Bungie alters those strikes so both DLC customers and customers that have not yet purchased DLC can access the content already paid for not missing out for a week at a time. It will be a deciding factor in my purchasing choices personally.

Its a game. They can do what they want, pretty much. The user license agreement we all agreed to sees that. Can see your point but it is unlikely they will go back on it. As others pointed out, it makes money. Whether you intended to buy it or not does not matter, the fact is you haven't yet. I feel for you bro.

If two weeks ago bungie had decided to take out the nightfall and weekly heroic for a week we would have never heard the end of it. Now that DLC is out, what makes this okay to do to non-DLC purchasers? Ask yourselves, if you would have been upset two weeks ago if they did this, then why are you alright with it now? Why is it so hard to see that point of view?

I agree changing base content of the game for DLC only users is not very moral. I also noticed that all the areas for DLC where already there to start with which supports what was said long ago that the expansion was built into the game. While the DLC seems promising I only have it because it was bundled. I don't feel anything changed . Still same game same rules nothing new. Wish they allowed multiple exotics given new DLC is more powerful then old exotic to begin with. There is also many glitches I have started to take screenshots of.

I have to say I am kind of annoyed by it. Not enraged or anything, it's not that big a deal but it would be nice to feel like we're not having the door slammed on us. That's how I feel. I will trade my copy of GTA next gen (amounts to just enough for the dlc sadly) but it shouldn't be that way, whether this is common practice in online gaming or otherwise. You could see it all happening from the first game I bought for Xbox titanfall, even their Dlc you could pick up all of for the same price as this one add. Just my thoughts. Let the hating commence.

You didn't feel like you needed those extra tracks so you didn't buy them...suddenly Nintendo block 2 standard tracks that came with the game originally because you didn't buy the extra content. Is that right?
