I've bought the dlc, but I'm still locked out of the daily, weekly & nightfall until I complete Eris' quest. Maybe I'm just crap but killing the Fist of Crota solo isn't easy for me.

bungie made it abundantly clear they were including a new strike in the dark below expansion. It should also be unerringly obvious the heroic/nightfall missions rotate from the pool of available strikes. It therefore stands to reason that there will be occasions where the higher tier strikes require the new dlc content to run. The amount of knee jerk raging on these forums is quite frankly amazing. Is it a bummer to those without the dlc? Sure. Should they have to work around the dlc to accommodate those players? Absolutely not. Bungie and activision have the right as for-profit companies to market and distribute their product as they see fit, a right which expands to additional content. Just like you, as the paying consumer, have to right consider the utility of their product and choose whether or not to spend your ostensibly hard-earned money on it. No one is putting a gun to your head and forcing you to play destiny. And no one is forcing you to pay for additional content. But like it or not, this is the way the developers chose to market their product. You have to look at the expansion and decide for yourself if it's worth your capital. But honestly, if you are invested in destiny to the extent that you object to missing out on one weeks worth of nightfall rewards, my advice to you is to save your lunch money until you have $20 to burn.

Well it was a longshot wasn't it, I really thought DeeJ might have taken a minute to address not only the concerns in this thread, but many...many others surrounding TDB content. Yep, this is another guy on the forums saying cya. Thanks to all who supported me and each other, but my questions to Bungie went unanswered and ignored despite this thread and others. Enjoy your DLC everyone. It's been a blast but enough is enough.

I bought the season pass, yet I still think the content lock is a joke. Bungie should have put in separate strike list for dlc holders.

Free access to gear that gets you to level 31 and new weaponry. You miss out on every sixth nightfall and weekly heroic. No, I'd say you did just fine.

Yep. Completely agree with you. I have the dlc but would like to continue paying with some of my friends who don't have it. It's almost like Bungie's actively trimming the already meagre content for non dlc owners. At this point, if I wasn't getting the dlc, there's no reason to keep playing the game.

I own the dlc. And couldn't agree with you more. It's a complete joke that they TOOK AWAY dailies weeklies and nightfalls from people who paid the full price of the game. It was there and then it's not unless you make another purchase?? Bait and switch?? For real bungie?? Just wait til tomorrow when xur comes and non-dlc owners can't get a damn thing. Wow, will that be played out. For everyone saying it's only 20$, it's irrelevant this is not asking for anything new, simply the same game they purchased and now it's not. That is crazy. It's a incredibly poor business and consumer relations move.

3 RepliesA new strike came out this week, of course it's going to be this weeks weekly and nightfall, what did anyone expect? Yes they could spend time and money implementing a system to do separated weeklies, or they could just do it this way and encourage people to get the dlc. If they did multiple weeklies, they wouldn't be The Weekly or The Nightfall. And would they have to break it down even further next expansion? Non-dlc weekly, dlc1 weekly, dlc2 weekly. We've known there would be dlc since the game dropped 3 months ago, plenty of time to save $15 for most people. You can still play the game, you just can't do The Weekly or The Nightfall this week because you haven't purchased access to this strike. And besides all that, you would have accepted a license to play the game that probably said they could change content whenever they want.

Honestly they probably wanted to make sure it worked smoothly before worrying about second hand things. Patience is virtue in this situation. You guys are all forgetting Bungie is continually making changes so there's no need to be upset because its not what you want off the bat.

I paid $80 ($70 + tax) to play a game, don't try to force me to buy the dlc. I am done supporting Bungie. Also I have a job, that's why I see the value in money. The people who say get a job are likely the one's who haven't got a job.And lastly to those who will reply, "get a better job" - that's why I'm in university.

We spent $20 or more (limited editions, both dlc's, ghost edition etc.) so we could have extra content. So you miss a week of nightfall and weekly, just man up and buy the -blam!-ing dlc instead of bitching about it. If I spent more money on the game damn right I get exclusives and shit.
