Why do the work for Bungie? I feel no attachment to my character or weapons because they didn't try to give me a reason to care.

Maybe because you have a proclivity to doing stuff like this? I do all the time. Even did it with Mass Effect, making filler and such when my Shepard wasn't being an interstellar Paragon. Hell, I even did it with Dragon Age and concocted the Angriest Warden, a guy who tore an Ogre's horns off and used them as lances to impale hordes of Darkspawn because Alistair called him "mage" twice. It's a fun exercise in creativity, really.

Edited by Doctor Satan: 12/5/2014 10:58:25 PMBut those games have depth and you can draw an emotional attachment to them and feel like you are those characters. The supporting characters further the lore and let you sink into the world. The places you visit feel like they have character to them and the atmosphere draws most people in. Destiny doesn't do any of that.

I mentioned those games to bring up that I did this in spite of what was provided. The Angriest Warden, for example, had no means whatsoever to become a reality in the game. So I took it and made it my own little story, one of an Arcane Warrior that belched fire and bare-fist punched Darkspawn into oblivion. Besides, Destiny is about becoming a Legend. Why not make it my own personal legend, of a pop-punk hero, a bank robber, and their mysterious (selectively mute) Hunter friend who they met while fighting Atheon?

Because that is dumb.

If you say so. I'll have fun my way, you yours.
