You never reset player's progress in games like these, it's the quickest way to make them hate you and stop playing. Why can't there just be two more dmg/defense upgrades added to everyone's existing exotics? I don't mean to be rude but you guys are really shooting yourselves in the foot with this system, big time. I'm fine with having to pay/earn to upgrade current exotics to new lvl 32 levels of attack and defense, that makes sense to me. What doesn't make sense is invalidating hours and HOURS of player's time. It's one thing when an MMO launches a new exp and now there is better gear to go get. That hunt for NEW gear IS part of the fun. But making people have to go through all these hoops just to get what they ALREADY HAD with nothing new but a couple numbers....well frankly that's kind of a dick move. Not to mention just the time spent earning the xp to unlock the upgrades to their exotics but also all the time spent gathering planet resources AND farming shards/energy! So not only is all that time lost, but there is also a "fee" to upgrade too, an exotic shard AND 7k glimmer! So 7 coins OR obtain AND break down another exotic too, PLUS having to re-earn all that xp again AND get all the materials/glimmer again too and all the time that comes with farming all of that! Sheeesh! Bluntly put, what were you guys thinking?! And I'd bet a large majority, if not most of lvl 30 players obtained that lvl with a piece of exotic armor. And now when new lvl 30 content finally arrives, they have to get knocked down a few levels cause that exotic gets reset and put more hours in just to get back to where they are?! That's cruel. I specifically played last night to work on leveling an exotic. Didn't have much time but in an hour or so I had 6-7 bounties to turn. I did turned them in, and all that bonus XP only earned me 1.5 upgrades on my ONE exotic, out of about 14 it has. By my crude math that's about 9hrs to max an exotic weapon. Luckily I only have one of my 10 maxed, so I've personally only wasted about 9hrs, but others have many more exotics weapons maxed than me! Honestly if the whole system as describe in preview just gave us a new version of the old exotic WITH all our previous progress we had plus a couple more upgrades slots to unlock and purchase, I think we be pretty fine with that. I just hope something changes before next Tuesday. I sent all my friends, whom I raid with (about 8 of us) the link to the "preview" and their reactions were all negative. From simple groans to one saying he wanted to throw his PS4 out a window now. We were all just playing and chatting 2 nights ago how we were really looking forward to the dlc. Now after that article the mood of the group is some what disgust with a whole lot of apathy. We were all going to jump in first thing when we got home on Tuesday, now the consensus is more "eh, MAYBE next weekend we'll check it out? I dunno". I guess the old adage is true "2 steps (patches) forward, one (massive) step back."
