There are a lot of complaints about how our exotics reset if we choose to upgrade their damage/defense rating. I think that instead of a full reset only the last four damage/three defense nodes should be reset. This makes it so you still need to grind out the higher damage/defense rating but you still get to keep the upgrades that make your weapon special. Let me know what you think or tell me your idea on how to fix this.
Edit: Maybe the glimmer cost for Xur to upgrade the exotic could be reduced based on how much the exotic has been leveled up.
Edit: The other idea is that when Xur upgrades the weapon he simply adds a new set of damage/defense nodes to your exotic.
- It is a valid idea, but I personally don't like this because it will make it harder to max out an exotic you have not leveled at all yet.
Edit: I would like to turn the original post into a collection of ideas for Bungie to see. Please post your ideas and explain them.

12 RepliesThe way I see it, we have been given an opportunity to keep our cherished loot relevant. Were getting all new equipment, a new raid, and two new levels to achieve. In other RPGs, we usually don't have the option, or care. We get our new item, the old item gets sold, we beat the boss, get a new item, ad nauseum. I am happy that we have the opportunity to bring our items with us to the next tier. It might not be the best way. We could get it for free. But in RPGs, the best, top tier gear is hard to get, and never free. I am excited for new gear. I am excited for a new raid. And you best believe I'm bringing my ice breaker with me.
