There are a lot of complaints about how our exotics reset if we choose to upgrade their damage/defense rating. I think that instead of a full reset only the last four damage/three defense nodes should be reset. This makes it so you still need to grind out the higher damage/defense rating but you still get to keep the upgrades that make your weapon special. Let me know what you think or tell me your idea on how to fix this.
Edit: Maybe the glimmer cost for Xur to upgrade the exotic could be reduced based on how much the exotic has been leveled up.
Edit: The other idea is that when Xur upgrades the weapon he simply adds a new set of damage/defense nodes to your exotic.
- It is a valid idea, but I personally don't like this because it will make it harder to max out an exotic you have not leveled at all yet.
Edit: I would like to turn the original post into a collection of ideas for Bungie to see. Please post your ideas and explain them.

1 ReplyI thought they said the re-leveling would be faster? I don't mind it cause it allows my exotics to still have a purpose and not become obsolete. We all worked hard on our raid gear and maxed it out to reach 30. Why does it not bother anyone that their gear is now useless/obsolete? Probably because people just like getting new gear period. And yea we are getting new exotic weapons. Which is nice. But alot of us still like our Icebreaker, Gjallarhorn, Hawkmoon, Suros Regime, Thorn, Plan C, Thunderlord etc. We aren't ready to move on from them. Their solution? Re-level it as if it were a new weapon. It's not that big a deal. Especially with the new material economies in place. Plus you may discover that some exotics aren't as important to you and you may decide to leave them at 300 damage. *coughs* Invective
