2 RepliesDeeJ, The biggest problem right now is not the main idea you’re proposing (making people earn their level 32 exotic gear), but how it is being presented. Here’s why: Problem - In life, no one wants things to be taken away from them. That in essence is the issue with this upcoming update. With the presentation of the new DLC exotic downgrading/upgrading system it comes across to us as if Bungie is taking hours and achievement away from the players. To the contrary it should have been designed as an upgrade system that allows players to unlock stronger perks, and increase base damage for the exotics we have grown to cherish. That way we can continue to use them in the DLC and onward. Just to clarify having to invest more time into your gear to get it to level 32 is not the problem. Being forced to take a step backwards is. Solution - In my opinion, there would be less outcry from the community if you told us our maxed exotic weapons required additional materials, glimmer, xur purchases, experience, golden eggs, clay pigeons, hotdog rolls (who knows what type of currency you’ll come up with next) etc… But just have them build up from our maxed out versions (or from whichever base damage and perks we have currently unlocked). Even if it does require a significant amount of time. Why the reset? Why take three steps backward to move one step forward? Why damage something to which players have grown attached? Why the complex downgrade/upgrade system? It seems you guys are complicating something that should be rather simple. Also, I never really been frustrated enough to post on the forums until reading the developer notes. But while I’m at it I think the community would really like to see the ability to exchange gear between characters using the mobile app. This would save people time from having to constantly run to the tower every time they change characters. Thanks!
