There are a lot of complaints about how our exotics reset if we choose to upgrade their damage/defense rating. I think that instead of a full reset only the last four damage/three defense nodes should be reset. This makes it so you still need to grind out the higher damage/defense rating but you still get to keep the upgrades that make your weapon special. Let me know what you think or tell me your idea on how to fix this.
Edit: Maybe the glimmer cost for Xur to upgrade the exotic could be reduced based on how much the exotic has been leveled up.
Edit: The other idea is that when Xur upgrades the weapon he simply adds a new set of damage/defense nodes to your exotic.
- It is a valid idea, but I personally don't like this because it will make it harder to max out an exotic you have not leveled at all yet.
Edit: I would like to turn the original post into a collection of ideas for Bungie to see. Please post your ideas and explain them.

1 ReplyI agree with you, there are so many better ways to go about this than the way they are choosing. Giving me this new material to level up exotics all the way, that's cool I guess. Then two days later you tell me that I will now have to pay to reset the gear which I've maxed out already and it starts from scratch? I'm having a hard time thinking about re-doing everything I've done. I've gone from playing everyday, with over 400 hours invested, to now trying very hard to find a reason to continue.
