Am I the only one who likes these changes? Am I the only one who thinks someone who spends twice as many hours playing should be stronger and better equipped than someone who just logs in once in a while? Go play a real time MMO or other rgpmmos and you will quickly realize how laid back destiny is even after these changes.

  • Laid back compared to what ? I played Vanilla WoW and frankly I have to say that even though it pissed me off that my Tier gear from raids was completely useless after a few uncommon drops in BC, at least they were better by leaps and bounds, not slightly better while having to take the time to "upgrade" my previous gear.
yes I'm aware you don't upgrade gear in WoW
• So let's say I have an exotic weapon that I never used before the expansion and that you have the same exotic weapon which is fully maxed before the expansion. We both take it to Xûr and we both increase the max level that the weapon is capable of hitting. We both then proceed to max out our weapons and they're equally powerful. You maxed the weapon twice, I only maxed the weapon once, we're both at the same end point. How are you being rewarded with a more powerful weapon than me for putting more time into it? You're not.

This is the key! I think a lot of people saying they like this are assuming it is making the more powerful exotics harder to reach increasing the value of having one... when in fact it is making them easier for anyone to get even if they didn't put time in maxing previous versions so again it dumbs down the game to make everyone equal and devalues effort and time committed to the game.

  • A lot of people like the laid back if they wanted what those other games have they would be playing them. Destiny in terms of content doesn't stack up to those games either so why should people have to invest the same amount of time.

  • Then don't, just don't expect to be as strong as someone who does.. It's completely fair

  • You miss my point destiny is laid back with that being a draw for many hence not the other games. You want it to be the other games so you invest the time some people have lives, jobs, families and still want to be able to enjoy a game to its fullest so buy the laid back one. They should not be punished by a system that is designed to artificially increase the length of the game for people with nothing better to do. Retreading old ground relevelling a gun you already maxed is artificially increasing time spent playing no matter how you package it.

  • The thing is, with these changes, you won't be stronger if you spent twice or thrice the time as someone else, you'll be back to square one on all your exotics if you want to upgrade them (which you will, to compete in the new content someday). I have so many exotics on all 3 characters, I can't even fathom the time I will have to spend just to bring them on par with what they were before the expansion. No other MMO cancel all your exp and just says "Move it son, you got a lot of "good old grind" to REdo on the things you already did, in fact what you're doing right now is pointless, we'll wipe all that exp down the drain". They upgrade the experience, not invalidate it.

  • No one is forcing you to wipe your exotics.. It's optional. The ones that you really want to use than sure, spend the time to make them stronger and benefit from it. It will reward you for taking the time to do so.. Also with all the new exotics coming I can imagine those will be everyones main focus.

  • That's what a reset is, not an upgrade or expansion. After so many time invested, you dont want to respend it leveling the same weapons. I wouldn't mind if they put a crazy out of reach upgrade time (like adding 3-4 additionals upgrade slots to current exotics) It could take the same time leveling those last upgrade than the entire first path took, but don't remove what we earned.
