16 RepliesOk. So having read the update notes I would like to share some of my personal concerns: 1) I am very much against having to re-level my exotics in order to get more power out of them. This seems totally counter-productive to "making them worth the price of ownership" in my eyes. It seems like Xur will only be able upgrade whatever weapons that he brings with him to upgrade on a given week, so in addition to having to wait what could amount to many weeks just to get my weapon upgraded, I also now have to spend a very steep amount of strange coins, and spend hours releveling a gun that I already maxed out and (in the case of more recent maxes) spend exotic shards to do. This does not seem like a very good deal to me at all. If I understand correctly, the total strange coins investment needed to get the next upgrade level (exotic shards) plus the time needed to relevel the gun just isn't worth the single damage upgrade that the gun will end up getting. That being said, perhaps a better solution would be to make the next upgrade cost two exotic shards instead of just one. Xur can still bring random guns that he can upgrade, but it won't seem like I am losing anything to make it better, yet I still am required to put some work in to make the upgrade. Based on what I have read here, this Exotic Leveling idea has been overwhelmingly ill received. 2) I am still unclear as to how the commendations work. If I understand it correctly, I will be unable to buy the new legendary gear unless I have the required commendations to get it? So if my Vanguard Level is currently 7, does that mean nothing in regards to the new gear? Does that mean that I have to get X amounts of commendations in order to buy the piece of gear I want? If that is indeed the case, I feel like this will stunt Guardian growth to a ridiculous level, and will make for a frustrating grind in order to get gear. Can you please shed some light on this so that I can form a better opinion on how I feel about this (if my opinion really matters at all :P) 3) I really like the "smart loot, yet still RNG" factor that will be introduced with the new raid and really hope that it works out. Raiding should mean more than just Ascendant materials and broken confidence with regards to leveling up. This might help fix that so no issues there. However, I am concerned about whether or not ALL of the raid armor will be available in the normal raid or not. VoG is very frustrating for me because I have to do the hard mode in order to get the Helmet, when all of the other gear is available in the normal run. Will Crota's End be the same way, or will you be able to get ALL of the raid armor off of the normal run so that the when the Hard raid becomes available I can be ready to tackle it? I don't mind that the raid primaries can only be obtained in the hard run, that seems fine to me, but if you do that, all armor should be available in the normal run. 4) I am disappointed that there is no mention of increased Vault Space. Seeing as how I may have to end up banking lots of exotics if this Exotic Leveling idea actually goes through, I would appreciate somewhere to actually put them. We need Vault Space in the worst way. Is this something that is going to happen? Deej, you guys knocked it out of the park with the recent Exotic update. It was like at long last the winds of awesome are sweeping through Destiny to give players new hope going forward once again. After so many nerfs, and takeaways, and further ways to stunt growth this latest patch was a significant breath of fresh air. I feel like this was the first patch that you guys pushed that didn't take something away from us (save for the Cryptarch actually decoding engrams to what they should be) and I am very excited going forward. But the things that I listed honestly discourage me greatly, and while not enough to make me stop playing, it will be enough to make me wonder if you guys are going in a good direction with this game as far as my entertainment value is concerned, and may impact my decision to buy future DLC beyond the two that I have already bought. I appreciate all the work that you and the development team have put into the game so far, and I really, really like playing it. And thanks for taking time to read this, if you even did. Because even if you didn't, I appreciate that I can at least have a forum to say my part. Let's keep the winds of awesome blowing...
