have us go to xur and pay one exotic shard, 10k glimmer, and 50 if whatever mat that's used to upgrade the gear you want to ascend. After paying all that, you unlock a 4th defense/damage node which will bring up that armor/weapon to the new standard.

Edited by Olympicwolf: 12/4/2014 2:06:25 AMI have an idea, if it's alright to add to this. I agree with the above, but I think we should also have an option to upgrade old legendary gear up to DLC standards too. The way it would work is after you finally collect a full set of Raid gear, you return to Eris with it all equipped and a "Radiant Infusion Bounty" will become available for 10 Motes of Light. The infusion bounty would bind with a fully upgraded piece of pre-DLC gear and make it unavailable until the completion of the bounty. It would progress similiar to an exotic bounty, with 5 randomized steps. At the end of the bounty, your piece of gear is returned with an additional upgrade node that requires Radiant material. In the case of weapons, it would merely raise their max damage to the new DLC norm, allowing people to keep that favorite rifle of their's revelant. For armor, it would raise it to level 32 quality. This would allow people to customize their armor to their taste while maintaining their Light level, yet still requiring the multiple Raid attempts till all the raid gear is collected. In fact, it might motivate people to get all the raid gear even more, would keep people returning to the new raid to collect Radiant materials, and would keep the VoG relevant for the people that want to collect and upgrade the old raid gear. I also have a few idea's for improvements to Patrol, but I'll wait to gather my thought's on that till I edit it in.
