  • Question regarding exotic bounty weapons and the notorious Vex Mytho. These aren't weapons that drop due to RNG (except the VMC but it's only acquired via raid) so does that mean that these weapons won't be able to upgrade to the new light level or will Xur sell them to get the upgrade?

  • What are you going to do about are current legendary armor and weapons.? I think this is a valid question that deserves a response.

      It's bad enough that our legendaries will be rendered obsolete...but I can live with that. However, having to re-level our exotics, after we spent so much time, is disheartening. I really don't mind the grind. In fact, I love it. It's part of the game. But to take one's progress and reset it is absurd. Not to mention that we can't upgrade just [i]any[/i] exotic either, we have to wait until Xur makes it available...and we all know how he is with RNG... Also, more vault space please.

      • Kind of makes it difficult for anyone not devoting their entire life to destiny. Ive been playing since launch and have put a ton of hours in and have slowly tried to level my exotic weapons since can only use one at a time. Now it feels like it was for no reason to level those weapons since they will reset when i upgrade. It would have been better if the upgrades added a node or two to increase the damage rather than regrind everything. Also you guys have just made ascendant materials nearly obsolete for anyone level 30 already. Exotic weapons and armor dont use them, raid gear wont use them, so no need for shards the only thing that will are the new legendary weapons which wont include the raid ones since they are radiant energy or whatever. The loot for the last raid was literally 90% ascendant materials and that was the main thing to collect and now it is useless and no vendor to trade them in for anything. I already have my stack of 1500 plasteel plating that is useless and now my stacks of over 200 of each ascendant material will also be useless. Also another huge concern is if all our weapons reset now then they will probably end up resetting with the next dlc so what incentive is there to try all the weapons and upgrade them rather than sticking with 2-3 weapons and ignoring the rest? There also had been no announcement of new vault space. Most vaults are pretty full and you guys are adding new weapons, armor, and currency/materials so where am i suppose to hold all of this? Just start scrapping all my exotics since no reason to level them all up and collect them?

        I have around 15+ maxed out Exotic weapons and armor across all my characters. Honestly... having to redo all that over again makes me seriously consider just dropping this game now. And the fact that all my Legendary weapons are obsolete, too, was another low blow. Clearly, all the time and effort I put in (500+ hours, for frick's sake) didn't really mean all that much. Sure, I'll be able to Raid day 1 of the expansion. But what's the point? Anything I get from it will be useless in three months...

        • It's a big dick in the ass! -5. Three months of work down the toilet because legendaries are obsolete, hours of leveling exotics pointless because I have to do it over again, leveling up vanguard and factions useless because I have to do it over again to get "commendation points"?!?!?! Wtf did I buy this game for on sept 9th?!?!?! Shoulda just waited until now....SINCE WE HAVE TO START -blam!-ING ALL OVER!!!!!!!!

          • In my humble opinion I feel a total XP reset for powering up exotics is a touch too extreme. Maybe drop back to the Exotic perk, but to lose everything?! Thats a bit much, especially if this is a recurring thing from expansion to expansion. Levelling an exotic is not a quick process, and as the game wears on we are acquiring an ever larger hoard of the things.

                my main issue with all this is that this system was not communicated to us until 5 days before the expansion. i have spent a ton of time leveling up what i would call tier two exotics (exotics i dont use very often) to prep for the expansion just in case they were useful in the new raid. now you drop this bomb on me that all my time was wasted, since i will have to rre level them again. what this system pretty much does is discourage leveling other weapons you dont use all the time.

              • I'm cool with it as long as they replace the current exotics with some that are worth getting. If there isn't a bunch of new exotics and I have to rerank up the current exotics I'll be pissed.

              • Legendaries are worthless? Pretty awful decision. And by that I mean really awful. The sad part is I was looking forward to the Dark Below and had just started a second character. If I have to start the grind all over what is the point? Rest well Vanquished, Gjallhorn and Invective...... it was a fun ride!

              • Reseting exotic progress to gain another 20-40 points in attack stats on top of the 300 already provided is really disheartening, that makes the player select a few favorite exotics and regrind to max for little reward. I would be okay with it if the perks saw an upgrade as well, but I see how that would be unsustainable. [u]I think a fair compromise would be[/u] To add one or two additonal attack/defense nodes for the upgrade but make them require 1.5 to 3 times more experience to upgrade the final nodes. At least then the gamer who put hours and hours into there exotic wont feel the progress was lost.

              • While your at it add a npc in the tower where after u complete a raid u receive a token and can cash that token in after every raid for either a weapon of your choice or a new piece of gear at least that way we always get something new or trade said piece of armor for a new piece we don't have sick of getting same piece over and over again

                What about having xur come two different days out the week like Tuesday and Saturday something like that, this way people don't complain about waiting a whole week for him you got two separate chances you miss those and it's your own fault. Or just up it to three random days

                • I really don't think I could stand to play Destiny if these exotic changes go through. I have a lot of exotics. I like having the variety and changing it up for whatever I need. If you're expecting me to grind for another 3 months just to CATCH UP to the point of progress I'm at now, you can expect one less player. The easiest fix I can see is this: Reset the experience. That's fine. But remove that insane cost, and give us telemmetries every time (At least for the guns. Armor isn't as brutal to level up, thanks to the consistent experience gains from everything). The further the exotic is leveled, the more telemmetries we receive. Let us catch up in a week or two, instead of months. You don't need to worry too much about keeping me playing until the next expansion. If the raid is fun, I will play it. That's all there is to it. And for god's sake, remove that damn Xur RNG idea from every possible existence. We've had to deal with RNG in almost every goddamn aspect in this game. There's already enough goddamn RNG. Give us a break. Give us some power and choice. I hate being treated like an idiot, and I hate not being rewarded for my efforts. Finally, give us a possibility of upgrading our legendaries. Some of them outclass exotics not in sheer power, but in playstyle. For instance, I hate most auto rifles, but I love the Vanquisher because it suits my preferred playstyle. Powerful, measured shots. If you're going to replace every possible legendary with a new legendary with better attack/defense, that's great. But if you're going to bottleneck everyone into only using a limited selection of legendaries, I don't think people are going to be happy. The only reason I haven't given up on Destiny yet is because I think it could become so much better than it currently is. So please, for everyone's sake, don't move backwards. Let's see some progress.

                • Here is my suggestion on how to fix this before the Dark Below Expansion. 1. Add a node for all Exotics & Raid Weapons. Allow us to upgrade it using the method in the article 7500 Glimmer, 1 Exotic Shard and finally 23 Strange Coins for a Primary and 17 For a Secondary & Heavy. (Don't make all our progress wipe) even if its only a few weapons per week from Xur. 2. Add a node for all Exotic & Raid Armour. Allow us to upgrade it using 7500 Glimmer , 1 Exotic Shard and finally 23 Motes of Light. 3. Bring Reforging to the Gusmith for all legendary Weapons and Armour (Exept Raid Gear as this should be allowed exotic stats) Charge us 2 Motes and 50 weapon parts or armour parts(class specific) On a side note. Allow players to add Elemental Damage to Legendary & Exotic Primary weapons(this would allow players with bad RnG or lack of Raid weapons the chance to have a primary with either Void, Arc or Solar damage. Make it cost materials for example: 50 Spinmetal + 50 Helium + 10 Motes of Light = Solar Damage 50 Relic Iron + 50 Spirit Bloom + 10 Motes of Light = Arc Damage 50 Helium + 50 Relic Iron + 10 Motes of Light = Void Damage All my suggestions are just that, it is your game and a game I love playing. But IMO you are punishing players who have been here from the start taking all our hard work and time and making it worth nothing. The suggestion about Reforging and Adding Elemental Damage to guns outwith Exotics & Raid will help new players and players who have not had the chance to raid or do a nightfall. After the last patch I dismantled 13 Exotics 11 weapons and 2 armour this allowed me to upgrade my other Exotics. If I had known this I would have done different. You really shouldn't have added Exotic Shard till this patch in all fairness.

                    This system as presented in this update completely removes any reason behind running vault of glass and removes hundreds of otherwise viable weapon choices from the game. [b][u]In a game mainly criticized for lacking content, this is a TERIBLE move.[/u][/b] I'll analyze each piece of the update, as not everything proposed is a crime against humanity, but my TLDR amounts to this: [quote]There's a reason MMO's only do hard gear resets every 2 years. It's because that's about as much as the playerbase will tolerate in terms of having weeks of effort required to attain and upgrade gear nullified. If you're going to push updates this often, [b]gear should at least be automatically made CAPABLE of the new higher Def/Atk values, even if it means filling in a few new upgrade slots or buying mats to "ascend" the item.[/b][/quote] let's go through this bit by bit: [quote][b]1 - exotic shards and glimmer to bring gear to max attack: [/b] [/quote][b]Acceptable.. [/b] it's not onerous but not trivial. You have to choose between upgrade and purchase if you, like me, only have an average amount of strange coins (usually just enough to afford ONE piece per week since launch). [quote][b]2 - weapon level progress reset:[/b][/quote] [b]UNACCEPTABLE.. [/b] It took me a couple weeks of normal play with each max level weapon I have to unlock it to that point. For a decent toolkit viable for the needed situational loadout in this game, that's 3 f-in months AFTER you get the exotics. For reference, FFXIV, often decried by american MMO players as "grindy", allowed me to max level AND prep every gear slot for raiding in 1/3 that time period, and their raid content cycles last 8 months. [quote][b]3 - Xur Will Carry A [u]RANDOM SELECTION[/u] Of Upgradeable Exotics Per Week[/b][/quote] [b]This is not only unacceptable, it's a slap in the face[/b] Why not offer a single, purchasable item which will upgrade the ATK of ANY exotic? I quit..[/b] [u]Seriously, it took a very painful, horrible grind to get vanguard rank 3. My vanguard rank-ups have been once every 2 weeks and ONLY on my main! [b] So you're going to make EACH PIECE OF THE MOST BASIC OF BASIC VENDOR GEAR LIKE THE FFXIV ATMA GRIND!?[/b][/u] I still remember PSO, the psycho wand with a 1 in 200,000 drop rate... and this 'new' system makes PSO's loot look generous, because if you played continuously in both games for the same amount of time, you'd get more psycho wands than you would faction rep weapons. Bungie has just managed to take that wonderful rose they gave us with the last patch, cover it in sewage, light it on fire, and shove it in our face "warlock melee" style.

                    • Glad I did NOT get the DLC. I have put in a huge amount of time to upgrade my exotics. I will not do it again so that you extend my play time because you guys at Bungie didn't have the content to keep me playing. Who makes the game design decision there Bungie? Escaped insane asylum patients? Geez!

                    • I'm ok with this either way but if I would have did it my way you wouldn't lose the 300atk that's the new base dmg and first two unlocks would be the two special bonus stats and already unlocked so you don't lose your old weapons stats all the unlocks would be dmg or if armor dmg

                    • Instead of resetting the progress of our exotics upon upgrading you should've just added another bubble tier in the upgrade tree and charged us (as an example): -2 exotic shards -5 motes of light -50 of whatever mats -5000 glimmer This game is already on the verge of being overly repetitive and monotonous enough. Please don't add more tedious chores to stoke the fire.
