Pathetic, more time-sinks for people that have already invested hours upon hours into your game. But, as usual, will you respond to our feedback? Nope.

1 ReplyHonestly all that your adding is tedious work. Make it intesting or you loose more players. Heres a list of your mistakes. 1. Previous legendaries are now going to be obsolete because of the stronger vangauard and crucible weapons. 2. Exotics take a while to level up and you can only level one at time. Now you just doubled the work. 3. If you made gaining xp more fun instead of just the bounties that are a chore not fun at all this wouldn't be a problem. 4. You just made everything harder for casual gamers(I'm not one) which is the majority of the players you have still playing. Because most of them aren't even level 30 yet lol. 5. If you think you fooled us when you doubled the grind of leveling gear to make it seem like you added content/expanded the game you're morons. You just gave is more boring tasks. *However I applaud the exotic weapon buffa you did well done*

DONT DO IT DEEJ!! Ask them why!!? Im ok with lvling a new exotic that ill get in the new expansion but existing ones that I already have maxed shouldn't reset! U know how many bounties I gotta turn in to max it out??! Time/effort/more time... Do everything in you power to discourage this.

Edited by RNBrown34: 12/4/2014 3:14:56 AMHonestly Deej you should be ashmed of yourself, same goes for everyone at Bungie. This is f*cking pathetic, you only care about forcing people to grind and grind and grind, just so you can brag how many players are on and how many hours they play. This is all one big scam for money, you have lied to all of us from the beginning. This isn't some crazy bullshit rumor i am making up, this is how the MAJORITY of people who play this game feel. And it is truly absurd they can just get away with this without consequences. I was stuck getting the expansion since i bought it during the hype digitally, so now there is no going back. You are a disgrace Bungie, and all you care about is money. Pathetic.

13 RepliesFrom launch, we've told bungie that the first DLC's will really set the pace on whether or not Destiny survives it's ten year timeline..and with this last update, you've proven that every time you've spouted "You can play it how you choose" is absolute horseshit. With every decision you make, it confirms any method used by gamers you disapprove of (and I am not referring to the templar cheese) will be removed. Thank you for showing freedom of choice really is an illusion in your game. Also, thanks for adding so much new content instead of modifying progression mechanics to artificially extend the lifeline of current content through repetition. O wait, that's sarcasm. The repetitive extension is real, the reasoning & necessity for it is what's artificial. F@ck you bungie.

Since Destiny came out I have been grinding to get 30 and to build three different class characters (all are level 29). I have not commented much because in truth you don't seem to change your opinion very much and you just force bad decisions down our throats. A few have quit, a lot have complained and more like me have stayed silent. Now all my weapons that I love are going to be weak. I have all but 4 exotics and have tried all but 3 legendarys. I actually have tried to play with them all and get them all upgraded. I played fair I never passed gear around three characters that were the same class. But that isn't rewarded. Instead now my exotics are needed. When will you realize that three hours a day is all I have to offer and your random drop system doesn't benefit anyone. You make the game less fun to play every time you say update. Eventually Mass Effect 4 or maybe something sooner will get me out of this abusive relationship.

All that shit I leveled. Reset. WTF were you guys even thinking? There will be new exotics. Add a -blam!-ing node to the skill tree ffs. "Nah, you guys gotta totally re level ALL that shit. Legendaries, just trash those basically. Oops." When people quit playing, and they will probably soon, it will be bullshit like this that does it. Artificially lengthening skill requirements and resetting level caps just shows lack of content included and making it way more grind than ever need be. Basically we leveled to max and got all this good shit to either scrap or re level all over after completing it. I am glad I didn't throw down on Wolves and can't see me doing so either. Bust your as to hit 30 but now it was for naught. Whoever is deciding this shit needs to go. Before the bulk of your fanbase does for good.

That is some weak sauce. Bungie do not enter that sauce into the county fair because it is weak.
-
OMG! grind all over again?! I guess I have to skip more school days and not study as much again...sigh video gaming life is becoming a drag

I just saw the incredible amount of attention and detail go into how they patch/change/ruin/nerf the game. Check it out! !! http://southpark.cc.com/clips/103666/idea-balls

Really confused on this. Mostly I keep just thinking is this for real. Will all my gear really need reset to advance? On top of that what am I going to do with all the ascendant material I currently have. Also It seems like I should dismantle every 'old' legendary because they will become worthless. DeeJ we need more answers. Bungie is making some outrageous decisions and I think the player base is feeling it. This game is fun but stop jerking me around, please.

1 ReplyEdited by Siaberwocki: 12/4/2014 3:10:38 AMThey probably could have required just as much additional experience and shards (adding to existing upgrade chain requirement for exotics) as they are creating via the reset - and we wouldn't have batted an eye grinding that out. It's the thought of "losing" the exp that is jarring. Well, that and the fact that they rolled out an incomplete patch this week that fooled people into wasting exp and exotic shards on upgrades that will be made pointless next week if they choose the new route.

Another thing is that: Bungie...remember that NO ONE used these exotic weapons until now because they sucked. Then YOU buffed them and now we like them. And now YOU are making it retarded to max level them. If everyone is like me, we leveled the exotics to use their perks but got bored of them because they were garbage, so the damage nodes aren't leveled. So your essentially making pay and play more for your shortcomings.
-
1 ReplyEveryone is pissed about the exotics (and rightfully so), but there's another issue that's being overlooked: current legendaries. Exotics are cool and fun, and they're finally getting their place atop the weapon hierarchy. However, the changes to legendaries will be just as drastic to your gameplay. As DeeJ said: "Existing Legendary gear on display in the Tower will be replaced . . . New Legendary gear will feature higher Attack and Defense values." The problem: 5 of your 7 equipment slots (armor and weaponry) must be legendaries. This means you will have to acquire more legendary gear to maximize your stats with the new stuff. Your favorite purples now? Obsolete. Obviously, regardless of how much you like your current stuff, you're going to want the better, newer stuff. You'll have to grind for these new commendations and come up with new weapons and gear. After all this time I've spent with my trusty Vanquisher and Final Boss, I'm not sure I want to give them up, but if they are going to be old, lesser legendaries, then looks like we'll all be looking for new guns and armor. This goes to the heart of the issue people are complaining about with the exotics: the grinding just to grind. The game is not played to grind. Sure, we all grind out materials, bounties, and strikes, but we do it for a purpose. The grind is not the game: the grind is a way to get the most out of the rest of the game. I didn't mind leveling up a lot of my gear because I knew it would be worth it in the end. What's the point in maxing them out if this happens every 3-6 months with DLC?
-
I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet (3k responses takes a while to read), but in addition to the loss of time previously invested in upgrading exotics, only one exotic weapon can be equipped at a time, making for a longer and more torturous grind. For those of you that say "deal with it," I'd agree with you if it wasn't for the fact that the game lacks enough content to make the grind relatively enjoyable. I'm not so sure a few story missions, a strike and a raid will fill the void. This game has so much potential, but moves like this (resetting progress to upgrade to a higher level) are going to kill this game. Hopefully Bungie won't make this mistake again with the second DLC.
-
Sounds good, it would be cool if I could also upgrade my raid weapons to keep them on par with the new raid weapons though
-
3 RepliesThere are currently 10 trending threads above this one about how bad of an idea the upgrade system works. This truly puts Bungie to the test whether they are listening to us or not.

4 RepliesEdited by Odin3y3: 12/4/2014 2:58:53 AMHey DeeJ, Remember in borderlands where you got to the last mission and all your gear reset to basic garbage? No, of course you don't, who would play that game? We spent forever grinding that gear now we have to do it all over again because none of you thought to implement gear that leveled with the player and could be used throughout. grinding isn't fun; no game ever resets your progress as a feature. For the love of Thor, hire someone who knows anything about game theory. It's embarrassing how bad an idea this is. It's like playing Pokemon, paying for a DLC to fight the elite four and also all your Pokemon are have been replaced with Eggs. No one would make that game, it's not fun. This is supposed to be fun.
-
Now I see where the 10 year plan comes from. It'll be that long before you figure out what the actual game mechanics are...
-
Only part that might irk me, is the RNG aspect of what Xur has on stock to upgrade. Like I really don't want to have to wait X amount of weeks to upgrade the one or two items I truly want to upgrade.
-
So does this mean that Xur is here on Friday, then again, next Tuesday?
-
1 ReplyEdited by Si11y Sasquatch: 12/4/2014 1:44:26 AMIt's not like all this ranting is going to do any good. I love the game but honestly are they really listening? They know what we want and sure this last update I thought was great. But they are not learning from their mistakes. fact of the matter is they have us all by the balls and we are going to play anyway. But to say, hey guess what? You know all those cool exotic guns and armor you were fortunate enough to collect and then grind your butt off to level up and upgrade? Yea they are total garbage now but your in luck! You have a random chance to spend even more items that you have to grind for just to have all of your previous progress deleted to make that weapon viable again. Who thought this was a good idea? And for those comparing this to the COD prestige system, there is no comparison. Prestige levels never effected the performance of the weapon. Purely cosmetic in nature. Essentially after receiving a buff ALL the exotics receive an immediate nerf a week later. This may actually be the straw that breaks the backs of people threatening to move on from an otherwise good game that is being micromanaged to death.
-
I don't even have time to explain why i don't have time to exotic you up, bro! Love you deej. Ok im drunk.
-
-
I put a lot of work into upgrading my exotics. If Bungie is going to go through with this, at THE VERY LEAST refund me that mats I spent hours farming for
-
Question regarding exotic bounty weapons and the notorious Vex Mytho. These aren't weapons that drop due to RNG (except the VMC but it's only acquired via raid) so does that mean that these weapons won't be able to upgrade to the new light level or will Xur sell them to get the upgrade?
