Why 6 players but no matchmaking or good system for finding other players? Because Bungie wants cooperation but doesn't make an effort to encourage it.

That's because you are supposed to raid to 3. Isn't this obvious by now?

I'm pretty sure designing vault to be a group activity is obvious. Within group activities tho, you have ones that are appropriate for matchmaking.. simple tiger strikes are a good example. Someone disconnects? No worries. Someone has no Mic? No worries. Someone goes AFK, not the end of the world. These are pretty much game-changers in the vault because it's a different level of intricacy and difficulty. That's why Bungie made another class of group activity: bring your own fireteam. I'm glad they cater to both. It's not that hard for some of us to find a fireteam and we should be rewarded with group activities of this calibre. There is plenty to do in this game with matchmaking built in. More than enough for you to start meeting people and making friends. Then once you have a trusty fireteam, you can do those other activities. If you don't have that yet, there are still other avenues to bring a fireteam. Really nice ones that lots of people use already. The key to this all though is one simple thing. The fireteam leader. Someone has to be the fireteam leader. With raid matchmaking, no-one would be the leader. So how do you reconcile? Randomly appoint a leader? Give one random person in the group the ability to boot everyone else? I would abuse the hell out of that system. If I were leader, I would just boot anyone who isn't a 30. Why not? I could be even more crazy and boot everyone who isn't a 30 and didn't have a gjallarhorn or truth.. This is not a simple concept that everyone makes it out to be. It is actually very complex. There is more involved than just writing code
