We want transmogrification!

Me, and my warlock friend were talking about things that would make this game more interesting. He said i'd wish I could wear this robe. He went into his vault, and pulled out a rare chest piece. It looked really cool. It had armor on the back, and the front with a flowy, and worn styled robe. So we started talking about how the Bungie team should try adding a system to were people can wear their favorite armor pieces, but with the same stats. I also don't think it's just me, and him who would want this. I think people would really love to look how they want to look, and not how the game wants you to look. In my opinion the game makes me wear these thing I don't really find aesthetically pleasing to the eye. For instance the robe I am wearing is the raid chest, and it has like a bunch of bones, and stuff that I don't find very good looking. I've found lower level gear that looks 100 times better than that piece. I also find that when I wear some of the exotics for warlock YOU CAN'T PUT A SHADER ON BECAUSE YOU'LL LOOK LIKE A DOOFUS BECAUSE YOU DON'T MATCH! Sorry for that I just don't like the way my helm "light beyond nemesis" looks, it's gold it will always be gold, and if I want to look purple I'll have to have this big hunking piece of metal on my head that has giant wings on it, and doesn't match the rest of my outfit unless I put on the goldspiral shader that I worked days to get. Anyways i'm going to sum up what you guys at bungie could do. You could make a npc in the tower (Preferably Eva Levante) let you open a window, in this window you could have a equipment tab, and a vanity tab. The vanity tab has all of your equipment slots that you'd normally have when you press start. Except you can look at the items that you have, for say the helmet slot. Then you could put a helmet that you want to have on in the vanity slot, but have the same stats, and item in your equipment slot. You could even make it cost motes of light, or marks. How many people would want this sort of thing?

  • Bump. It's one way to build individuality into the game without creating more armor. Hell, we don't even use the majority of armor we find in the game, anyway. That's a lot of wasted effort on the artist's part. Transmog would take time to do, especially to make sure that the correct perks xfer over and that it doesn't bork the rest of the game. But as any good investment does, it would yield high value for future endeavors. Also, it would allow players to visually wear multiple exotics, which would be a win. The only thing I can think of, as a down side, is that in PvP it will be hard to recognize what loadout your opponents are using, not that it matters all that much anyway.

  • Has been brought up several times to great popularity. Dunno how hard it would be to implement, but it really does need to happen.

    • In DC universe online they have a style system. Basically in your start menu you have a tab that reads style. What it does is takes every style you have ever had for every piece and saves it in there, you can then switch every piece of style that you want. Leaving your gear UN touched, only the appearance of your character changes. I've been saying destiny should have this since release.
