Hi everyone, this is just another weigh-in on better wardrobe options beyond shaders. Here's why we should be able to equip whatever style of armour we wish, from whatever we've earned so far (like in DCUO)... It isn't like we would wreck the game by turning it into cosplay; this is all gear you've given us. Some of it looks cool, and we'd rather stick with it than dress up like a tan leather parrot just because of improved stats. Far from detrimental, the ability to mould our guardian to convey a personality / attitude of our choosing would engage us more, create a sense of attachment to our avatar in the world you've made. There isn't a great deal of personality in the cut-scenes, and so a lot of players gripe about Destiny being soulless. If there was a sense of "that's me hanging out in The Tower" then maybe that could be overcome? Now I'm going to talk about the incentive to play, progress, and buy the gear on offer around the Tower: why are we motivated to toil for hours earning the crucible marks etc to buy stylised weapons and gear, when it will be like a pea-shooter and tin-hat combo unless we go patrol the Cosmodrome with it? This is just a simple case of skins. Weapon skins, armour skins, guardian skins. I know choice on the guardian creed affects the story, but what does it matter to narrative if I want the shell of a camo PSI pulse rifle I found on the Moon on the higher power guts of one I bought from Dead Orbit? All told, I'm enjoying the game a lot, but as I progress, I think I'll get more and more put off by dismantling gear as fast as I earn it, never to see it again. You've laboured over it, help us enjoy it!
