i still think that it's hilarious that Bungie is more concerned with fixing cheese spots in Strikes and Crucible rather than fixing their absolute shit coded Raid and myriad of game breaking bugs and glitches. Apparently, it's more important to keep us from bypassing their "stellar" level designs and force us to complete things legitimately, than to fix the cause of these cheesing symptoms to begin with. Fix your shitty code and scale the enemies appropriately, and fix them regaining health upon death, and maybe we won't use locations like the platform to cheese through Strikes and other missions... Oh, and way to go nerfing Thorn, which was already one of the weakest Exotics in the game before. Can your coders do anything right?

  • Have you seen the programming code for the Raid? That's pretty cool. How did you do that?

I'm going to assume you're being sarcastic, since that's 90% of the type of people that lurk here...

My level of sarcasm is much much lower than most of the people here. But yeah, you can't really say a game has been coded badly, if you haven't seen the code yourself.

  • Ah yeah, you can. Go play Vault of Glass on Hard and tell me that the scripting is perfect and there are no problems with the code whatsoever, and you did not encounter a single bug or glitch that caused a major problem for you or the raid group. Bad code is what results in broken content, ie. bugs and glitches, script errors, client disconnects, and sometimes even lag. Flawless code typically works as intended. Unless you're trying to tell me that everything in VOG is working as intended, in which case this is simply just a very bad, and very unfair game. So which is it? Bad code, or bad game?

  • As much as I agree that it slightly buggy, what you're saying is taking it a bit far. I have never seen the Oracle glitch after killing all of them, and I've done the raid 7 times in one day (once on hard), two days ago as of this post. I was detained a total of once inside the portal, and even then I broke the shield and we were able to get out with a full team of 29's. Doing hard mode means you should be HIGHLY prepared. Only glitch I've seen consistantly is not being snle to pick up the relic, and if the person dies inside that portal, it's a wipe anyway so it's trivial at best. The relic not blocking splash damage can be seen as a glitch, but can easily be dealt with. 2 people going in? RNG chose someone who was dead. Only time I've seen that. Fixing the detain thing is a bit more annoying then you would think. You would have to wait on the RNG to get the three players get teleported, but that would leave the people outside vulnerable to supplication for longer as they need to wait for the detain and get out of it without getting -blam!-ed up. I prefer breaking out j time and risking someone in the Oracle room, diluent to the fact that you *should* have everybody with Oracle disruptor on your team, so you can manage them easy enough.

  • Just a quick mention regarding the bug teleporting only one or two players. It has nothing to do with dead characters. My clan did a flawless run this weekend, and in the 2 teleports it took both times only 2 were teleported. It definitely needs fixed.

  • I've never seen that happen unless a player dies, so that's odd. If we have nobody dead it has teleported them 10/10 times. Also, to add onto what I ment with detain: the person being detained in a bubble inside the portal to Mars/Venus could also be lag issues. I'm making an assumption in saying that the game judt registers everybody that's outside the portal as marked for detainment, to avoid players being able to not being detained. Now if anybody lags while this happens, that would be a cause for the detainment inside the Oracle place. This is still a situational bug, but it's not exactly game breaking and could have easily been over looked.

  • You can theorize and make conjectures and hypotheticals all day, but the bottom line is the scripting for the raid is buggy as hell, and to argue that point is asinine and a waste of time. It's been proven countless times that the raid is broken, and the scripting craps out so often that it causes entire raid groups to wipe consistently to the point of rage-induced quitting. For these bugs to still be present this late into release is unacceptable, and for the development team to be focusing on ANYTHING except major bugs like those, and weapon/class balancing is also unacceptable. You don't put a fresh coat of paint on a car that is rusted through and only runs half the time... Another analogy that I'm rather fond of would be a chocolate coated turd. A bit of chocolate won't make the shit taste any sweeter.

  • Why would I need to have coded a game in order to understand that this game is badly coded? If you're about to defend Bungie with the apologist trope of "Coding is hard, so until you go out and do it yourself, you aren't entitled to your opinion", just save it. I have experience coding, maybe not games in general but I have written CF and SQL, and my wife is one of the highest paid CF programmers IN THE COUNTRY (US). Regardless of my personal experience, the developers were PAID TO DO A JOB, a job that they did not complete and a job that did not adhere to conventional standards of quality. If they HAD done their jobs well, we wouldn't be having this discussion. If my wife had released content of the same standards and quality as Destiny, she would have been fired from her job on the spot. The bottom line is Bungie did not playtest their own product before launching it (mainly VOG), and people paid full price to play a Beta, with most of the content withheld for future DLC. It's inexcusable, and the worst part is they refuse to even acknowledge their mistakes or focus on fixing them, and instead opt to fix minor issues that have minimal effect on the players. Did we really need new icons for everything?
