THe Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints.

Edited by lee293: 11/17/2014 10:55:59 PMThere are a big differences in the Mormon and Christian religions!
-
What are they then?
-
They are not Christians. I'm a Christian. They believe that they will become gods if they are good enough. We believe that we need Jesus to make us good and that we are his servants. Not gods
-
We believe that following Christ's example and teachings we will become good also. It by His Atonement that we are reconciled with God. We are to follow him in faith and deed. We do believe we will be joint heirs with Christ. Not because our deeds but because of his sacrifice. He will always be our Savior and Lord, through out all eternity.
-
I believe I'm a joint heir with Christ also. But answer this question. Do you believe you can become a God. Please answer just yes or no. I've already had an 18 year old "elder" dodge the question whenever my dad asked.
-
god, little "g". We will become joint heirs with Christ. We will always be worshippers of God and Jesus Christ. Question for you, what do you think you will be doing for eternity? Bonus Question, how does God grow?
-
I'll be worshipping God for eternity. Not some god, but the one true God. Key Word ONE. He doesn't grow. He is the same yesterday today and forever.
-
Problem with your ideology here, is that in the Old Testament it clearly states numerous times that god mentions other gods but says he is the most powerful god out of all the other gods. So by this logic if Mormons believe they become gods under god how is that incorrect? I'm not a Christian or a Mormon.
-
Most Christianity does not take the time to understand Jewish theology, especially ancient Jewish theology. Most would not believe that ancient Israel was polytheistic, with three gods being worshipped. El, Asherah, and Jehovah. Jehovah won out in the end but since the bible does not record this... (Shrugs).
-
Another reason why Christianity isn't really all that great with its ideology.
-
Well, most of this has been lost to time and history. So it will just take time to rediscover some of it. And work through it in humility and patience. Nothing overtly wrong with christian theology. Does not mean we have a perfect frame on all of it just yet either. No one but God has perfect knowledge.
-
Its a hypothetical situation. IF there were other gods he would be better than all of them.
-
There is no "if" in the old testament, there are other "gods". We know there are not, but they did not know. They believed in many gods but usually only worshipped the "One True God". This was not strictly true until after their exile in Babylon. Thankful, we have had Jesus come into the world to keep us on the straight and narrow.
-
I agree, I will be worshipping God for all eternity. I also believe I will be helping in his continued creations what ever that may be, not just standing around playing the harp. Also I agree, that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I would say since He is perfect, he grows through his creations and his children.
-
He does not have spiritual babes like that though.
-
No one knows how he created the human soul other than clay and breathing life into them. Not exactly a detailed description.
-
Are yo a new Mormon or something?
-
I am a convert. I was baptized in 2008. So not new, also not a typical LDS. I chosen this path after studying and reading the scriptures, and praying. I went from agnosticism to faith in Jesus Christ.
-
Wow I'm not sure which one is worst. You want me to talk to you privately?
-
Haha, I am quite comfortable now thank you very much. I am happy to have joined the church. I am happy to have found Christ. Privately how?
-
As in this conversation.
-
But like via e-mail? Or maybe you play via xbone?
-
Like what?
-
Eh you know.
-
I didn't say he did that to make us... I don't think that's how it works for him... I don't know how he made us.
