Might as well just stop trying to fix these, make the boss fights more fun instead of frustrating to deal with.
Take the nexus for example, no cover, no place to hide from minions, just an open zone to be thrashed.

I agree. I like a challenge more than the next guy, but some nightfall's are just stupid. It's not so much a matter of skill, but finding a safe spot and then being patient. As much as I like Bungie and this game sometimes it just feels like lazy design. I want excitement and challenge, not hiding in corners. I completed Halo on legendary about a thousand times by myself and I don't recall hiding in corners to accomplish it, ever. Maybe it's time to bust out the old Xbox :)

Yeah I mean, Bungie may as well stop updating game exploits right? And allow people to complete the hardest challenges in the game very easily by exploiting things.
-
You missed the point, people wouldn't have to use exploits if the boss battles were better designed than just, here's this big damage sponge, and here's a bunch of waves of dudes to distract you.
-
So your argument is that the boss fights in Destiny suck? Great. Because that horse hasn't been beaten enough. But like, I'm going to poke the bear for a moment and say, this game is an FPS, FPS games are about killing things. Why would you expect a boss fight to be anything other than killing a big boss? I mean, even MMO's like WoW have Raids where you basically just kill damage 'sponges'. The argument is a bit redundant, if you want something different, then go play a platformer or something.

Nightfall isn't for noobs it's for people looking for a challenge now get your head out your arse...

The nexus is possible alone at the bottom if you head to the left behind that platform, just really hard. But yeah I agree the fights are annoying. Too many mobs and too much damage. Would be nice if they added some kind of strategies to each fight instead of just kill boss, any difficult adds that spawn. This week in the normal weekly they get lightswitch. Let them near you and you'll get one hit. Now how do you take out reaver captains, stealth vandals, boss, sniper vandals, shanks, dreggs, servitor all while standing in the open there? This one I think is impossible without some kind of spot.
-
If you think of the room as a clock You enter at 6 Mobs spawn at 2:30-3 and 8:30-9 Get on top of the pillar at 3 and you can snipe him out and take the mobs at your pleasure...careful because hobbies will find you.
-
I know of that platform, have used a few in nexus, died in all of them too :P I was able to do it once though down the bottom hiding at the raised part. Only was possible though with hawkmoon 1 hitting the mobs.
-
The only thing I didn't like about the last time it was the weekly was the splash dmg and void mod, the splash dmg was enough to kill you let alone taking a bolt to the face.
-
The Nexus can be cheesed too.
-
Not true, you can jump up on pillars.
-
That doesn't exactly work, I tried each angle and his splash damage could still kill me with ease with the void burn active.
-
There's actually a pillar you can jump to where you're completely safe but the tricky part is getting there in the transition from the minotaurs (lots of risk there), to the fight starting. If you're not up at the pillar by then, you're in trouble.
-
Video showing it? If it's nexus with void burn in the next 3 week I wanna be prepared

I know what he's talking about...there's a ledge up on the left side up near the ceiling. 2 Guys did it in a tiger strike the other day....I could just see there names and their rounds coming from there. I let myself die so I could switch to their view and see where they were. It was up there and looked like an invisible barrier was preventing them from taking damage. They could shoot right down on the nexus head over the shield from the angle they were at. I tried to get up there but kept getting blocked by invisible walls and taking damage from the 20 something vex firing up plus the nexus. I was able to get on a small ledge near them on the outside of the spot they were in but I could take damage and splash damage. I gave up trying to get up there and just went and trashed all the Vex at the bottom, got like 3 blues out of it and was able to put the final round in the nexus from my Devil. Best part of that strike was at the rewards screen when I got the Universal Remote and a legendary engram as a reward and they got a piece of armor and an engram. We got paired again for the next strike and as the strike starts they both start punching my titan, shooting, and throwing grenades at me. Hilarious. That is thr story behind my universal remote Bungie

Yeah there are actually two cheese spots on nexus. Behind main pillar at base of drop in and on the left wall (if you're looking from the start) there are ledges that you can get behind and be semi-safe
-
It's on youtube. Don't have the time to dig for it right now but it's not hard to find. There's two different spots you can go to. The ring right above him and then there's a pillar you can get to by starting a series of jumps on the right side, wall facing boss.
