Bungie!
Ok so I'm confused on your forums with all the stuff about the updates you guys say NOT to do port forwarding because it could cause farther issues. But you guys are sending people these links that say to DO open NAT (port forwarding). Which is it because I would really like to know. Because I can't even play destiny because I just keep getting Caterpillar errors and I keep getting disconnected from Xbox live. So Bungie please please tell me what's up.

12 RepliesNormally, the uPNP-setting on your router should automatically open the ports necessary for your console which means you don't need to set up NAT on your router. But if you are experiencing problems, you could open up the ports mentioned in the blue post, and maybe that helps your problems. For me having the Type 3 a long time, both with upnp or ports forwarded, needed to make a call to my ISP to remove my hidden ip and make it public. After that I got Type 2 and had a better experience playing Destiny. Now i'm not NAT-ing anything and just use uPNP. Hope everything works out for you!
