Hi XGU DarkSoul777,
I'm sorry for any confusion here. Port forwarding, opening ports, NAT, and UPnP are all complex concepts that are interconnected in ways that are not super clear. If you can, first check out our help page here: http://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11931
NAT is, overall, how easily your console/device can connect to other devices out there. The ease of that connection can depend on different configurations in your home network. One such configuration is port forwarding.
The important takeaway here is that port forwarding, in particular, is not always the recommended step to take. It really does depend on errors you may be encountering and our help article does explain this. Please do give it a read.

I've done all this. My wife can sit right next to me and play destiny on our other Xbox 360 just fine. And I know it's not our internet because we have very good internet. So is there anything else that would help?

[quote]The only way to have multiple consoles with open NAT is UPNP and nothing else.Problem is not all routers implement this correctly.Have a look at xbox support they have a list of routers that work with multiple consoles.I use a Billion bi-pac 7800n and have 2xb1s (used to have 2 360s)with open NAT although i must have them on ENERGY SAVING start up .

Cool I'll have check that out

If you have multiple consoles on the same network, check if your router supports 'port range triggering'. Generally, this is better when trying to manage traffic on the same ports, but to different devices on the inside network. Port forwarding usually only lets you select one target device/IP address on the inside. If you have your consoles set with static IP addresses, you may need to switch them over to get dynamic address from the router for port range triggering to work.

It does support port range triggering. Is that easy to set up? Because for my router it's kinda complex to do anything on it.

Really depends on the device. My older linksys was pretty straight forward, but I play around with this stuff a lot. You would likely need to disable any port forwarding that's setup for the xbox/destiny ports. So off the top of my head, these would need to be checked: Consoles are set to get IP address dynamically Router is configured as DHCP server to give out IP addresses Router has UPnP enabled Port forwarding for xbox and destiny ports disabled Port range triggering enabled for xbox and destiny ports (there are quite a few ports that need to be configured) If you're internet connection is going through a cable/dsl modem or another device before hitting your router, you may need to look into setting that into 'bridged mode'. I use DSL, and an older dsl modem sits between my phone jack and my linksys. Without bridged mode, inside devices would be going through a double NAT (the linksys is doing NAT, and then the dsl modem is also doing NAT on the routers traffic).

Isn't port triggering the same as port forwarding though? And if I should try port triggering would I need you do it with both Xbox's and if so what are the ports that I need to use?
-
Triggering and forwarding work a bit differently. Triggering tries to do port forwarding dynamically based on outgoing traffic. The outgoing traffic part can also be a problem with triggering, though, as the devices need to make that outgoing request first so the router knows which device to send the responses on that port back to. You would setup triggering on the same device you have forwarding setup on. You don't specify an inside device/IP address to get the port traffic with triggering, just the port to be monitored. The consoles don't really know anything about triggering going on (or forwarding). Depending on the router, it may or may not have to be the device assigning the IP addresses to your consoles for triggering to work. It didn't work on my home setup unless the router was also the DHCP server. The ports you want to have triggered are the same ones you would forward in a single console setup. The link in BNGHelp0 post have those ports.

Cool I'll try that and see if that works thanks for all the help. And thanks for actually replying.

I'll have to check all that out then and mess around with it. I love playing destiny. But omg I'm so sick of being kicked off Xbox live
