Hi Top,
Anidien beat me to linking the network guide, but you many need to turn on UPnP if you are running 2 systems at once. UPnP stands for Universal Plug and Play. It automatically handles port forwarding and other networking stuff many modern games need to work. Destiny users having problems can often benefit from enabling this if it's not on. Most routers should have it on by default.
The exact steps to turn on UPnP vary widely by router. Broadly you should follow these steps. Searching the internet for your exact router model's manual can be helpful.
1. Sign in with a computer to your routers admin page.
2. Look around "settings" and "advanced settings" type pages.
3. Try to locate UPnP.
4. If it's not enabled turn it on. You may have to reset the router.
5. Restart your console

It looks like this may be due to wifi connections, then. I would try what Anidien has suggested:
Wireless connection strength can differ from room to room in a house. It's entirely possible your connection, where you are, isn't very strong. Multiple destiny connections on the same network at the same time can be touchy. It's possible your network is overloaded, and prioritizing the other xbox over yours. First, try playing on your console without the other one running, and see if you encounter the same issues. Try running on a wired connection, or using your xbox in a different room.
Edited by Top Renegade: 11/13/2014 1:08:53 AMOk so I turned my bros xbox off and played destiny for about 5 mins with no problems. Turned his xbox back on (it was not signed in to XBL) and immediately got caught loading during a patrol on Venus got an error code hawk then lost connection to XBL. What do you think the solution could be? Should I take his xbox off of the wifi? Or something else? Thanks for helping :D

You're welcome! We always encourage directly connecting the console to the internet, so if this is possible, we recommend taking the system off wifi.
-
I took it off wifi and it seems to be working now thanks!

I had the other xbox hooked up to the internet and mine on wifi and I got a caterpillar then lost connection to XBL. This is only happening in destiny.
-
I'm going to try wiring my xbox to the internet
-
Idk if it was coincidence or not I'll keep trying things.
-
but why has this only been happening since the last patch? everything ran smooooooth since the day it came out?!

This started three days ago for me

-

I have a fritzbox 3790 and i had to assign a static ip to my playstation then enter that ip address to the "exposed host "area of my router in the internet section. I had tried the upnp and portforwarding so many times to get cod etc to open nat settings but they failed every time. Now i have a open port on every game and my hair is starting to grow back again
